    I would guess at Tupno?
    Topno?
    Torno?

    'fraid not - 'tis Trapenna

Some hikers like Torpenhow because (forgetting a missing "e" at the end) it can be translated as Hill Hill Hill, Tor, Pen and How(e) being names for hill in verious regions - some even unofficially name a small rise nearby as Torpenhow Hill ;)
Another word I misread, and sometimes still do, is awry. I said it as
    or-ree, instead of a-wry.

Phew, I'm not the only one ;-)

@Pyxis - funnily enough the Em-air-de (Mazda's MR2 in phonetic French) which sounded rather a lot like 'Merde' has never been a huge seller among our French comrades.

Not surprising - they dropped the 2 off the name and sold it in France as just the MR.

Although, interestingly, I've just found a French website, Le Club MR2 France.

I find the UK summer harder to deal with because you bloody heathens are too tight to put in air con.

Realistically, there's a maximum of 3 days/year when it might be desirable. It's never hot enough here.

If anybody's planning on going to France this weekend, an app tells you which fuel station close to you has fuel. essence.fr

I doubt NPs are heading that way though ... but just in case you know anybody who is.

No jerry cans are allowed in your boot on ferries.

Vans are having problems getting fuel, often being restricted to 20 litres. Trucks are OK, just fuel up before going out instead of the usual running out on empty tanks.

There's been problems round some of the ports as well. I presume they will take the weekend off and return on Monday for some more protesting. Bless 'em.

I love this picture (hate the Daily Express)... thought it was something that Pastures could look out for while beachcombing. Or at least be aware of, I think the shock would kill me!

    Arm or am?

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-cambridgeshire-36388364
Far fewer people now pronounce the "r" in the word "arm" than they did during the 1950s survey of dialects
I don't think I know anyone who says 'am' rather than arm - is that what they mean by not pronouncing the r in arm?
    I think....

I suspect not pronouncing the "r" means they say "arm" instead of "arrrrrm".
