What a lot of interesting stuff! :)

I like this thread! Lots of little snippets!:T
It's what we're all about - a random walk around nonsense and pet projects :)

Usually without mentioning much about MSE, or house prices.

Dunno if you know this one Pyxis. It's a neuroscience thing.

You have to say the colour of the word, not the word itself. For example, as you read across the top row you'd say, "Green, Yellow, Red". It's a lot harder than you'd think!

What a depressing afternoon at work. I have been doing an analysis of cluster bomb makers. OMG.

Our neighbours had a Trimphone for a while - they got rid of it when they found out that one of the local starlings could do an extremely realistic imitation :rotfl:

    As could my brother's family's budgie :D

London ones were easier in the days when you had the letters written on the dial so could always work out the correct code.

Ooh! Could there be some more? Pretty please? I love that sort of thing! I love puzzles and I love semantics, so lateral-thinking exercises are great! Even if I don't manage to work it out, it's still great to let the mind do somersaults and go off at tangents, and then if you do get a light-bulb moment, oh the bliss!

You have just sounded exactly like youngest son with your views on that question PN, I had him discussing (ok more like a diatribe) about it last night for about 15 minutes!
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

This link lists all the London exchange names, why they were called it, and the old and new numerical equivalents.

And, yesterday, some "adults puzzling over 6 year olds' test question" where:
"some people are on a bus, so many get off, so many get on, now there are so many on the bus ... Q: how many were on it to start with"

    You mean like?
You are driving a bus with 15 passengers on board; at the first stop 6 pax get off (Job Centre), at the next 3 get off and two get on, at the next stop (the Town Centre) the number of passengers doubles, the bus termiantes at the final stop and all the remaining passnegers get off. What was the name of the bus driver?

    Or my favourite:

Mary is one of five sisters, the four eldest siblings are called NaNa, NeNe, NiNi and NoNo, what is the name of the youngest?
    I think....
