PN, there is a hat for everyone, you just haven't found it! If you are petite, then you are probably better off with pillboxes or fascinators. Brims can overwhelm those who are less blessed in the height department and don't have width either!
A pillbox would look a bit daft.... and fascinators are "just weird"
There are some simple/canvas "fishing-at-the-river" style hats that might've done for today ... but as we so rarely get good weather at all, it won't be on my "must buy" list.0 -
Wish me luck...... I'm in a small group AmDram competition this evening! Been rehearsing all day, now just having a final rest before leaving for It!(I just lurve spiders!)

Thanks for the tip - another one that can only cope for a short while with the sun.

I'm not sure a pillbox or fascinator would be particularly good at keeping the sun off, though.Wish me luck...... I'm in a small group AmDram competition this evening! Been rehearsing all day, now just having a final rest before leaving for It!
Hope it goes brilliantly, Pyxis. :TDo you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

You won't see this until later Pyxis but I hope it went well
I tried on a fascinator a few years ago when looking for an outfit to wear to a wedding. Definitely not for meI did find a nice hat in the end though.

Ok, it was a very small competition class, but we hadn't been doing this for long, and hadn't ever performed in this ensemble before, so we were well chuffed! And we got a cup! ( A silver one!) Never had a cup before!
Plus we'll be reprising our performance in a show at the town theatre soon, by invitation!
Please excuse me while I go WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!(I just lurve spiders!)

Cups are good; you rarely see cups these days.
I got a cup once.... just the once. The sort you hand back after the year's up. My name was the first one on there as it was a new thing.... I wonder where it is now!
Yup! We'll have to hand ours back next year!
What did you get yours for?(I just lurve spiders!)
