Over the last few days the DKs have decided the garden is a great place to play football - you could now hold a 'bog-snorkelling' championship on the 'lawn'I think....0

We have a dead tree. 3 tree surgeons have looked at it, all muttered that it needs to be taken down before a storm brings it down. It is still standing. Think it is fairly safe now.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I volunteer to help get your forum questions answered and keep the forum running smoothly. Took the dog for his walk and no trees were down but some had lost some branches.
Could be worse; I remember the hurricane back in 88 when had to walk from Vauxhall to Hammersmith as the buses were delayed by trees laying across the roads and the underground wasn't much better. (Note to non-Londoners, much of the "underground" is overground and blockable by fallen trees). There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

Just remembered that Maggie is on the coast and on a hill, in the west, in the caravan! hope you're okay Maggie!
Back home in Liverpool now! Safe and sound.DD2 and family were there but drove home yesterday. Caravan was still safe when they left, lunch time-ish I think. Fortunately caravan is well chained down - we're used to gales there!
If I disappear it's cos I've accused someone of trolling on another thread  :

Oh here's my post
I'm probably over sensitive, but it all sounds like a more emotional version of the Dead Dog story to me. :cool:0 -
Well, I think I've found the cheeky monkey.... but not sure what went on yet. ..quoted PN
now you have dug a bit its getting that you just have to keep digging
I find sometimes I just want to keep searching until I find something interesting also and then there is no stopping until you hit that brick wall again my contact Judy Woollams in New Zealand has gone quiet on me and she has been so much help in the past but I know she had other commitments and then some illness so I have not bothered her too much of late.. William Woollams the famous wallpaper designer but with different sons would be the same distant relative as my long suffering husband. 4th great grand-dad I reckon.

Just to annoy you Pastures, my Mary Ann changed to Minnie Ann. There's a mix across the years, but mostly Minnie after she left Ireland. But I think Mary on Death Cert. She was my Grandama (Great Grandma). I think she prob had dementia by the time I knew her. My Gran used to give her stuff to knit, then unravel it overnight so she always was knitting the same bit. Sheesh I should be putting all this stuff on my blog so one day my girls and the grandkids can read it all and marvel at how awful people were in the past!0

I just felt there was something a bit off... Obviously I am not a Nice Person!But...
Thanks Zag, I was feeling a bit odd about posting, but so many have made suggestions but nothing good enough. Oh well, if I get a kick in the teeth I get a kick in the teeth. But I still think it's a bit weird. Thanks for support.0 -
For those bored of their usual TV routines .... at 7.15 tonight, on Channel 4, it's Guy Martin Live.
Northern bloke, wears overalls, fat sideburns, motorcycle racing bloke - has done a lot of programmes where he breaks all sorts of speed records.
Tonight, live, he's doing one of those Wall of Death things. But, he's not just going to ride a bike round one, I think he's going to build the Wall of Death and build the bike too .... and the attempt at the world record is live tonight on the telly.
He's a very cheery chappy. So, if you don't like northern men, or hairy men, or motorbikes, or speed, or world record attempts, you should still watch Guy because his presentation/personality helps you rise above all that to have a jolly good watch.0
