Pyxis I have a funeral plan, and the music I would like played as people are leaving at the end is the beautiful Nunc Dimittis which was played at the end of each episode of Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy.
No idea if it's going to be possible, unless the funeral directors just ignore the copyright thing, but then I suppose it won't be my problem at the time
It's on youtube if you want a listen. (Do, do, it's wonderful!)0 -

I think a lot of funeral directors have a PRS licence for that sort of thing. Some of them have their own bank of popular funereal music choices that people can draw on, too. It shouldn't be a problem if that is the case!
Yes, I know the Nunc Dimittis. It is beautiful!(I just lurve spiders!)

Actually, I've just checked, and it seems that they don't need a licence, so you are ok.........9. Crematoria, chapels of rest and funeral parlours
PRS for Music, at its discretion, does not make a charge for any music use as part of funeral services or in waiting areas of crematoria (or similar premises).
This includes:
Music as part of religious or secular funeral or remembrance services for individuals
Music in waiting rooms at crematoria or similar premises(I just lurve spiders!)

Why can nothing ever be easy.
Pt1 - I wanted to pay some money into a cash isa at first direct. Try to transfer the funds online and get a 'Your transfer has not taken place choose another option' message. Get on to live chat who tell me for security reasons if you do not pay into a savings account for more than 12 months then it gets locked for security reasons. I suspect I am not the only one who does not pay into a savings account, especially an isa, with gaps of more than 12 months. The only way to unlock the account is to download and post back a pdf which it is now too late for this year. Then I try to withdraw from the account and that is allowed, it is only deposits that are apparently a risk?? Live chat claims this is to stop the account being used for money laundering...except that I am trying to transfer money from my current account at first direct so it is hardly new money that they don't know the source of....
Pt2: Change of telecoms company. So BT put their prices up enough to let you get out of their contract for free. I phone up and get told I can end all my contracts for free except for my mobile (as no price increase) but I can keep my mobile discount for being a broadband customer because I am leaving due to the price rise. They also say I will get refunded the outstanding proportion of the 12 months advanced line rental I paid last October for the same reason. SO a few days ago I get a text to say the mobile discount is stopping. I call up and they say they need to listen to the tapes because I was wrongly advised. Then today I get an email saying they won't be refunding the outstanding advance line rental payment so another call to say it will be refunded once I get my final bill - but I am not holding my breath on this one. [The water has been muddied by the new supplier, virgin, mucking up and failing to set up the number transfer which has resulted in the BT line staying open for an extra 2 weeks possibly taking it beyond the free cancellation due to price rise window. I fully expect to end up in the middle with both sides claiming it is not their problem.]I think....0 -
This is why I tend to stay put.
My health would suffer and shorten my life so that I wouldn't get the benefit of any savings, after hassle like that!(I just lurve spiders!)

I got caught by this rule a few years ago, NatWest in my case though.
I solved it by making a "note to self" to pay a few quid in on the first day of every financial year.0
