Tuesday 9th Feb - What small DFW things will you do today?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.

Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important. :money:

    Morning all, :wave:

    Greetings. Just a quick post before work.

    * OH has work today too so we are going to have to car share which is a bit cumbersome.

    * Do RMS Surveys.

    * Take a packed lunch and a re-fillable water bottle.

    * Eat a hearty breakfast before leaving to fend off vending machine temptations.

    What have you folks got lined up for today?

    Morning all, Thanks for starting the thread again. Hope everyone is well.

    I have a day off today so I intend to potter around the house cleaning and organising but otherwise not do too much. I will do some surverys and dig out the item I wanted to ebay.
    I managed to not buy any chocolate yesterday by taking porridge to work in case I got really hungry...which I did. Im going to continue my no non-essential spending - no food treats today! I have to do some food shopping so I will do that with a belly full of food after lunch!
    Im going to book myself on an overtime shift for the weekend once the office opens at 9, I keep getting tempted to book long days for both days but will just book one day and only a half day.

    Morning all :)
    Thanks for starting us off Ally. Hope work goes ok :)
    It is neither rainy nor windy here at the moment (though more rain is forecast for later :(), so hoping for a proper dog walk shortly - just hope he doesn't get attacked by those leaves :rotfl:

    List for today:
    Hens and dog already fed
    Cheap breakfast using free fruit from freezer (done)
    Dog walks x 2
    Visit farm supplier for chicken food and bedding. Also compost for repotting small trees if they have the right sort (might need the garden centre for that)
    Go to sales unit to tidy up / see if anything needed
    Buy bananas from market while out
    Take some items to the charity shop
    Maybe check out pound shop for seeds and seed potatoes
    HM meals from stores
    No heating on except in bathroom and airing cupboard
    Light wood burner later
    Any surveys, FPL etc
    List another small item on ebay (I listed something yesterday and it has bids :T)
    Do some housework

    Hmm rather a boring list, but at least a trip out today.
    Hope you all have a good day :)

    Morning all!

    Thanks to all the good luck you guys sent me - two hour interview(!) which seemed to go very well! However it meant I didn't get home until late so didn't do anything around the house! But I did resist the urge to buy chips for dinner on my way home (partly because I was busting for a wee!) so cooked when I got in! Which also meant I had a NSD!

    CCL - Pleased you're feeling better today. Hope your headache passes.

    Ally - Pleased your first day back went well!

    Today I have/will:-
    * Check banks
    * Use free moisturiser sample
    * Do washing up
    * Give OH his orders for tonight! :rotfl:
    * Charge phone in work
    * Check FPL
    * Earn more on OnePoll
    * Email re notice period which is slightly different to what I thought (big oops!)
    * Pay cash into bank whilst in town for boss (meaning my petrol and parking is free as I'll get it back through my expenses!)
    * Collect prescription from Mr A and decide what to use £2.45 from wombled receipt for (milk and flour for pancakes!)
    * Dinner from stores
    * Clean kitchen as per flylady
    * Sort out laundry

    Think that's everything for today. Hope you all have a good day.
    Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89
    Current debt - £5,100
    Total paid off - £10,500.89 (67% paid off)

    Good morning all, hope those who are poorly start to feel better soon.

    - school run DONE
    - playgroup with DD DONE
    - lunch at nannys so free food DONE
    - nursery run with DD DONE
    - pop into town to post bits sold on eBay, cash some coins and print letter off to one of my creditors NEEDED BREAD AND GOT SOME YELLOW STICKER CASSEROLE BEEF!
    - school run and dinner from stores for kiddies
    - OH got a free £10 voucher at work for working so hard so is treating me to homemade Chinese dinner which he bought (all one his own!!!!) yesterday

    Wondering if anyone can help. My downstairs neighbours are not very nice people, very rude, aggressive, intimidating and keep moaning about the noise my children make. Now I know they can be noisy and I do try to keep it down but they are kids and I am sick of feeling scared of them. I spoke to estate agent and he recommended exactly what I knew, speak to environmental health and report them for harassment if it continues. Just making me feel emotionally sick.
