Finding the strength from somewhere

My Dad passed away back in November. I was crippled with grief for several weeks, and still get crippling moments now.
I find that reminiscing and laughing about him with my family helps.
The second half of 2015 threw things at me I didn't think I could possibly survive, but I did, and you will too x0 -
Things are very up and down. I still feel very numb. Mum seems to feel differently after the funeral. She was so pleased with the way it went, and the support we have had it has been an immense comfort to her.
The actual day of the funeral was the worst feeling..... I just felt sick and full of dread. If I could have stayed in bed under the duvet and let it all pass without me I would have... It was just so painful to face. BUT.... The family pulled together, all the grand kids kept us going and I even managed to read some of my dads poems for the service.
It feels a bit flat now..... Life without the centre of the family will have to go on without him... But we are sticking together and being there for mum... And that's all we can do for now.
Thankyou all for asking xx

I'm so so sorry to hear your news. My only advice to you is to spend every precious moment with your dad and tell him you love him everyday he has left with you. The last thing I said to my dad at hospital was that I loved him when I left him settled for the night... Little did I know it would be the last words I would say to him... He died in the early hours of the morning.
Newlyboughthouse,
I'm sorry you have recently lost your dad too. I'm glad you find such comfort in your happy memories of him xx0
