Forged signature

It appears I'm not the only disgusted with parcel force..
I had a parcel delivered on the 28 th of November.
While I was upstairs parcel force delivered a parcel to my ten year old son by the time I came down stairs parcel force had gone.
The parcel was damaged so tried phoning the the supplier but as it was a Saturday they were shut. So I went on the parcel force website to see what they could do.
Only to find it was a sign for parcel and the driver had forged my signature.
Tried ringing the Lincoln branch only to find it was shut. So had to wait while Monday.
Spoke to the shift manager saying he would look into, thinking it's all computerised now day this shouldn't take long.
He said speak to the supplier and they would compensate them.
Do I phoned the supplier only to find out they had no more stock and they had tried their suppliers but they had none.
It was my sons main Christmas present a James Bond scaletrix so it was bad enough that he would notice but I had no other option than to accept the damage one.
I phoned many times to get details of what was going on but the customer service at parcel force is shocking to say the least, promising to phone back but don't, weeks and week go by getting little or no communications.
The shift manger said there's nothing else he can do as the driver was an agency so won't be using him again , but he would look into a gesture of goodwill but had to go to mangers above him. They weren't interested.
This whole sorry episode has taken two months with no satisfactory outcome.
What else can I do

I'm confused, what losses have you actually incurred?
  • Any issues you have are with the supplier and not Parcel Force. You have no contract with them.

You haven't got a contract with Parcel Force, your contract is with the retailer who in turn have a contract with PF, that's why they are not getting back to you. You need to speak to the retailer regarding the damage. I don't understand the issue with the signature or handing the parcel over to your son as you received the parcel.

The OP hasn't made it clear there IS any damage to the item yet, simply the packaging.

Not clear, but the OP did say "...it was bad enough that he would notice..." suggesting that there was damage to the Scaletrix set.

That suggest to me just the packaging.
  • The box was damaged.. But I had no choice to accept as the supplier had none left.. Buts it's the fact the driver forged my signature...

So the box was damaged, sons not really bothered as he's happy with the toy. The agency driver will not be used again so all is well.

    Happy ending.

Well not for the driver anyway.

The parcel was delivered. Somebody was home to accept it. You complained and the driver is no longer employed by them. What exactly is it you're expecting to happen?

The supplier have an obligation under SOGA to make the damaged packaging right, but the law limits them to a replacement, repair or refund. They have no stock to replace it and they can't really fix the box. Presumably you don't want to take the gift from your son and send it back to them for a refund. So again, what exactly are you asking for?

The supplier may be willing to refund the postage cost given that the "signed for" delivery didn't happen, and they may be willing to give a partial refund or a small credit to compensate for the damaged box, if you ask them. But the law doesn't require them to do that - they'd be quite within their rights to insist you return the set for a refund if you want anything doing.
