Evening all.
My flying today has consisted of S&S bathroom and kitchen and decluttering 2.5 lb at SW - back in target range at last (i.e. not having to pay each week)
Had coffee and lunch out with a friend at a local place - very nice home made veg soup.
Then DH and I went for a walk (to "lose" the calories I had gained as a result of eating freshly baked bread and butter). It took us less than an hour to do the route up via the public footpath over the brow of the hill, down the other side through the woods, back up the bridle path and home along the Roman road. 3 years ago, when we first moved here, it took us nearly 2 hours to do the same walk, but we weighed a total of 7 stone heavier between us in those days
The mystery bird has been identified! As we walked around the edge of the paddocks, a buzzard flew out of the pine trees that are beyond the brow of the hill and therefore not visible from my window, swooped low over the paddocks and landed on the post where I had spotted him this morning. It was definitely a buzzard because it was doing its mewing call. We watched it from several different angles - lovely bird.
This evening I have cooked Qu0rn chicken stirfry and some very nice pancakes, so DH doesn't feel deprived in any way.
Tonight I am going to my course (being held a day early this week). DH was supposed to be going to model railway club but is opting to stay at home, which will make my journey a bit easier because I shall not have to drop him off early in the next town and pick him up again later.
I will fold up and put away yesterday's washing before I go out.
Have a good evening, everybody.0 -

Confession time - I got slightly sidetracked.
However, I have now installed Morrowind and Oblivion on the new pc, and ensured they are both working correctly.the important things first.. Do you not have Skyrim??
I love Oblivion and Skyrim, OH and I spent many hours on both along with The Witcher, Fallout 4 and GTA4. Happy days.
OH is currently playing Fable 3 on the xbox, it has a great voice cast and some very amusing dialogue.0 -
AFB.. if a bit rude on occasion! My OH plays that too.. he is currently on Final Fantasy 8 I think.. it was re-released in original format ahead of the remade version. He played Saints Row which is rather like GTA in part but has a story line and a bit more to it (like I know having never played either) My boys like Overlord as well... thats very like Skyrim.. and everyone here plays World of Warcraft.. nerd central my house! DS2 plays Diablo as well. The Elder Scrolls.. OH plays that too.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0

Evening
Long drive done, sea looked at, thank goodness I didn't see any beached wales, but they are still about in the area, I hope they find their way and head north to deeper waters.
Sadly once sperm whales get into the north sea they will die, as it's only 100m or so deep and they need to dive to over 1000m to catch squid. They die of dehydration. So however many were in the pod that made a wrong turning from the Atlantic will die and be washed up.
It isn't unusual (although this is the biggest recorded event - but then not all previous events would have been recorded) - it's just now instead of just knowing about your local whale you hear about all of them so it seems as if more are turning up. And in the past, there would have been people out there stripping the carcass as soon as it was beached - whalemeat and oil were valuable resources.
I have finished unpacking from Canada and put my suitcase (although not all my clothes) away. I've done some tidying and cleaned the loo. House is a tip and that's stopping me working properly.0 -
Hi everyone, Sorry I was missing last week as I had the flu and just to make matters worse I got dismissed from work yesterday (not enough work available apparently) and then tonight on the way to pick my little ones up my car broke down with a puff of smoke, which now means that we live in the country and have no car. Dh still has not found alternative work therefore although he is bringing some money in, its really what he should be bringing in fortnightly. I really think that he is being an ostrich and burying his head rather than looking at the problem, as he thinks applying for one job a day is enough (applied for in between watching tv). It really has been a very trying time at the moment and at the moment I don't know how much more I can take. Sorry about my rant!!!
I think my plan for tonight is to gather my thoughts and think of ways forward and try to find a way to make DH see that he needs to get his rear in action.

I'm in, but just been skim reading as it's hectic here. Meant to be completing on the sale of our house next week, so trying to pack whilst looking after DD and DS who is fully in terrible twos - had a little cry when I finally got them to bed, he's been up since 5.15 and grumpy all blinkin day.... And breathe. All I've managed to eat is snacky rubbish so the pounds are piling on.
MMM what a rotten time love, thinking of you
Bossy hope your long day was ok.
Off to declutter a brew then bed - I CBA with today anymore
