You only need to look at JenniferK's previous posts about Plusnet to see that they are very anti because they had a bad experience with them, they never miss an opportunity to try and put people off them and give them a bad name.
Problem is that I am not alone in having a bad experience, especially in dealing with their "Customer Services" which takes a lot of patience just waiting to talk to someone in Yorkshir
Interestingly, I was on Plustnets 76MB product. Since joining another ISA on their 76MB product my connection speed has increased by 50% without any other changes.0 -
Thanks to everyone for all the info. I only have ADSL with BT at present but speed (19mb down and 1mb) and service has been excellent. I was considering moving to fibre 38mb/9mb but When I told BT I wanted to cancel they came back with reduction of current ADSL Unlimited to under £6 per month. They want £20 for 38mb fibre and £24 for 80gb. I am not sure what to do now, the standard broadband seems a good price. I am not sure how faster/better the fibre would be in comparison but line tests show I would get very close to max speed. Thanks again for all the info0

If you are already getting 19Mb download speeds then I can't think of any current apps that wouldn't run smoothly (streaming HD video for example); in my opinion, the ONLY reasons for considering fibre would be 1. if there are several avid downloaders/streamers in the household all online at once or 2. if you need to upload a lot of large files in a short period of time.
I currently get ~ 16Mb d/loads on ADSL which is perfectly adequate for I player,Youtube, Sky Go and HD box sets on the Sky TV platform.:)0 -

To put things into perspective I have been with Plusnet for many years previously on ADSL and now on unlimited fibre, whenever I have had an occasional problem I have had no cause to complain about the service I have received in a reasonable time compared to any other service industry and since being on fibre for the past two years with them I have never had any speed problems or a single connection drop.
Would I recommend Plusnet, of course because my experience is the opposite to yours and I can assure you if it was not I would not have hesitated to change ISP, but I don't come on here singing their praises all the time.0 -
There will always be a small percentage of customers that have a bad experience with any ISP when the majority are quite satisfied, you only need to look at these forums.

I don't dispute that there are many happy Plusnet customers but there does seem to be a bit of a problem with Plusnet at the moment. Why not have a look at Plusnet's own forums http://community.plus.net/forum/index.php?board=49.0
Additionally, on Trustpilot Plusnet are ranked 32 out of 34.0 -
As said all ISP's have people that are not happy just look at others forums
A bit more accurate than Trustpilot who I would not trust for anything.

From WikipediaIndependent investigations have revealed that review websites such as Trustpilot's have fake reviewing on an almost industrial scale.0 -

Thank you for the interesting link.
Bit pointless when its selective with ISPs and does not give sample sizes. If they can't gain enough sampling data for large ISPs such as Sky then this survey is very questionable.
If you don't like Trustpilot then try:

As for other sites if that is what you want to believe to continue your anti campaign that is your choice.0 -
I was under the impression that BT, Talk Talk, EE and Plusnet are some of the biggest and most posted about on these forums, however if you want sky here they are

I respect your views. Hope that you continue to be happy with Plusnet. I am just pleased to be rid of them.0
