Have a lovely birthday tomorrow. You deserve it.

Older dd is coming round soon to go with me to weigh in and middle dd stayed over last night so we could have a catch up. I made us steak with mushrooms (YS), chips and loads of veg. She could not believe it was a "low fat" meal!

Need to get a wiggle on and tidy kitchen etc.

See you later and hugs to all.

    Good morning everyone

Tru, I'm really sorry to hear of the loss of Penny chick, at least you gave her 7 years of happiness x

I woke up to the sound of rain splattering against the window and it's so cold here as well. Oh well, I shall wrap up warm and I might even put the heating on for a bit. Roll on Spring!

I am still excited and a lot nervous about going to church tomorrow. DD13 is going to come with me as she says I need some support, I know I will be fine once I get there though as I have loads of friends there and it will be so lovely to see everyone again. It has been about 5 months or more since I went so there should be loads of news to catch up on.

I am making a storecupboard Irish stew today which takes 5 minutes to make as it is just opening a load of tins :D. It is really tasty though and the family really like it so its a winner. Other than that it is just the usual Saturday clean up and then relaxing.

Hope you have a fabulous birthday JackieO and you let your family spoil you.

Hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx

    Morning everyone,

Damp and windy here again, am aching for a bit of sunshine.

Had a lovely lunch with youngest SS yesterday, he brought along his laptop so could show us all the photos from his trip to Thailand and Vietnam, he was there for the whole of January and travelled around a far bit so had lots to tell us about. He is riding high at the moment as had had an unconditional offer from the University of Northumbria so is set to start there in September. After the initial disappointment of his A Level results things reallly seem to be working out for him, am so chuffed, he's a lovely lad. Knows how much I like cooking so brought me a load of spices home, including two have never heard of so cookbooks will be coming out :)

Managed to Bill out and about yesterday which was good as not sure will do much today, want to get the house as tidy and clean as possible before start on Monday, only doing three days a week but want to be ahead of the game.

Tru. - sorry to hear about Penny Chick x

    Take care everyone x

    Morning all.

Slept pretty well apart from my bladder waking me up but I did manage to drop off to sleep ok afterwards.

Pulled a muscle cleaning the stairs yesterday and it really hurts. I'm not as supple as I was.

Food shopping today for us. I don't think we have anything else planned. I want to get Mother some adult bibs but with Lucy's op coming up hubby has told me to wait a couple of weeks.

    Onwards and forwards

    Have a great day all

  • Morning, ((((((((((((((((((((((((Hugs)))))))))))))))))))) if you need one. Its pittling down with rain here, must have been heavy during the night, the coal house floor is flooded yet again!!

Left the fire in last night, put a shovel of coal and a piece of wood on and shut it down, it was still hot this morning and some glowing cinders, so some kindling and small coal and away it went. I switched off the sitting room heater, read the meter befor we went to bed and again this morning. Used just 16 night units, will let the fire out tonight and put the heater back on see what the difference is.

Visitors coming this morning, so off to do a job with the hoover and swab the kitchen floor, get more coal and wood in. Once we get back from seeing the hounds off will be set for the rest of the day in the dry.

    Morning all,

Dry here for the moment so will try and hand the washing out for a while today, I want to try and get the lounge curtains down today and give them a wash to freshen up.

OH gone to the boot sale and DD having a well deserved lay in, DD and I are off to a friends posh party tonight, OH does not do posh, its really not his thing so he will stay at home. I am very much looking forward to it.

I too need to nip to Waitrose this morning, just need a few things for the week, and OH really likes a certain beer that they do so he will get some of those.

Tru, so sorry about Penny chick, bless her xx

Sistercas I am so pleased for you, what is the new job ? similar to what you do now ? I loved the look of that MB tortilla thing too let me know what its like. x

    Have good days all xx
  • Morning all

I was awake from 12 until 3, but managed to get back to sleep until 7, so not too bad a night.

I've dropped hubby at work, collected DD & dropped her at work, I'm waiting for SIL to drop 18month old DGD for a few hours whilst he coaches DGS's football team.

I had a mooch in the charity shops and found a pair of size 4 wide fitting shoes for £4, not bad as they are an expensive make.

I've also been to the bakers and butchers, stocked up the freezer with meat, I spent £40 but it will last until next pay day.

I've made hubby some lunch so I'll drop that up to work for him at 10, then mad rush of housework, I'm behind as I wasn't well last weekend and haven't caught up yet this week.

    Have a good day everyone.

    Hugs Hester
    Chin up, Titus out.

Had some friends over for supper last night, really enjoyed it. It means that there are leftovers that I will have later and the house is clean and tidy!
RR - Enjoy your 'posh party'.

As I had a drink last night I walked to the pool, swam 60 lengths and walked home, feeling quite good at the moment but will probably crash later as I didn't have a good sleep (2 G&Ts is all it takes to knock me off my routine - such a lightweight!).

Need to stock up on logs some time this weekend, I have Monday and Tuesday off this week too as it's half term.

Have a good weekend. Take care. XX
