Where in the veg section is it?

Do you buy blind? Not able to see what's inside first?

The two stores near me are trialling this.

Parents and I will probably share as if I get 18 onions, too many for one person

On a pallet in the normal veg section. . These is a label on the outside which gives a list of what is inside ( but not how much of each ) . I presume that all boxes are the same ( but maybe with different qtys ) When I went there where 5 boxes left - which all had the same label on. As you can see from the photo ther are holes in the top of the box - so you could just about see bits of what is inside.

How do you do the picture? I couldn't work it out.
I uploaded it to my facebook page and then took the URL from that into the "insert image" tag. Maybe there is a better way - but this worked for me :)

I suspect the wonky veg will change as the seasons change, like the fruit and veg boxes companies.

  • Can't see the point.

If Asda want to sell "wonky veg" then just stick it on the shelf.

Nothing there looks particularity different from what you would get at a normal green grocers.

Jump on the bandwagon, dress it up as a fancy scheme and get the world and his wife talking about it.

    Nice little marketing ploy.

    .

That would take up twice your current space - once for "normal" and again for "wonky". Doing it this way keeps your space, distribution and general handling costs down

But the stuff in the box looks perfectly normal to me.

It is only the conditioning by the supermarkets that make people deem stuff like that "wonky".

!!!!!! you peel it and chop it up, why does it have to meet idealistic aesthetic standards.

Its also strange that there are onions in there as these are nearly always class 2 so could be self weigh.

I cant see where the bargain is ? Doesn't seem much cheaper than Aldi/Lidl or the nearest market. The leeks look to have been around a bit too, you can tell from the way they've grown.
