TOP MONEYSAVING TIP
Make your own Pot Noodles using a flower pot, sawdust and some old shoe laces. Pour in boiling water, stir then allow to stand for two minutes before taking one mouthful, and throwing away. Just like the real thing!

Ahh! Shoeburyness, my part of the country. May take a look.
When do we start a what kind of wonky fruit/veg we find in our boxes picture thread.
Could be a good laugh! With censoring  of course. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:The more I live, the more I learn.

How do I post photos that are currently on my PC ? - The "add image" link looks for a URL
In the box I bought this morning
2 parsnips
4 carrots
4 leeks
3 peppers
1 cabbage
18 onions ( mx of small/medium sized )
cucumber
8 potatoes - 4 quite big , 4 a bit smaller
I havent tried to weight them or compare to what they would have cost for standard veg.
I wouldnt describe any of them as wonky/misshapen - Probably failed "standards" due to their relatively small size ( though perfectly okay for me )0 -
Clicked on link and got this

It'd be interesting to know how the trial stores were chosen as my local one isn't there but many surrounding towns are.
Also interesting to see the make up of a box as unlike traditional veg boxes it's all basic stuff, nothing 'exotic'.
I think the idea behind it that misshapen/imperfect sized/blemished veg is sold on to customers is a good one but for how long (if at all) it'll be a bargain I wait to be convinced.0 -
Looks like a reasonable amount, but I would get more for the same money from Aldi, plus it would be stuff that I will actually eat.
From memory: celery, carrots at around 55p per pack, pineapple at 69p, 2 bags of apples and a bag of oranges at 59p each - comes to just over £3.50.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!
