I got the phone call today!
I've been matched with a little girl called Jazzy, and apparently its by name and nature because she can be a bit of a handful, but is an extremely good worker
she's coming to meet me on wednesday and if we get on, its full steam ahead!
so excited

Fabulous news! How long after meeting Jazzy will she come to live with you, assuming all goes well?0

i have to rain with her first in birmingham, and they will take her down to London to train her on the underground for me.
they try to get it all sorted and at home within 2 months

That is wonderful - so pleased for you! I'd love a Hearing Dog but can't have one as I already have 2 dogs of my own, and they are both useless at alerting me to anything!
I don't know what sort of lifestyle you have, but am guessing Jazzy will give you a lot more independence and confidence. The only downside is the number of eejits who will talk to the dog and not you - I'm embarrassed to say I do that myself sometimes (I don't mean expecting the dog to answer for you
but those who automatically 'talk' to any dog they meet, which when you can't see the owner of the voice must be pretty annoying!).
Looking forward to hearing how you get on.I want my sun-drenched, wind-swept Ingrid Bergman kiss, Not in the next life, I want it in this, I want it in this

Aw that's great news I hope all goes well and you get on famously...I take my hat off to you using the underground without a sight issue is scary enough for me...0

That sounds great. I know someone who trains Guide Dogs and they do a fabulous job. As well as gaining more independence, you'll also gain a loyal friend.
I've always taught my children never to approach any dog without permission. For most dogs, it's because we don't know how they will react. With Guide Dogs, it's because they are working. So we always ask the owner if we can stroke a dog or not. My son (who has Down's Syndrome) gets very excited when he sees a Guide Dog and tells me that they are busy working!0 -
Great news for you nanny, and I'm sure you and Jazzy will be great for one another! Good luck for the future

It is so exciting & I'm sure you & Jazzy are going to get on incredibly well as I'm sure they wouldn't be making a potential match with the 2 of you if they didn't feel confident that she is the right dog for you.
It must be a bit like a blind date where you hope & pray that he/she is going to be The One for you!The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0
