Delayed Access Charge from removal company

I cannot understand this. I thought the OP said the vendor had received sufficient funds from them to pay for their purchase as they were downsizing? So why could the vendor not make the move as planned?
Then there would have been no problem with the removal company.
OP would then presumably only have incurred interest/penalty due to the £7k they were unable to pay on time?0 -
Entirely reasonable for you to be charged for vendor's costs since you failed to Complete as per the contract.
Is £500 the right amount? True, without seeing the precise invoice neither you, nor we, can know.
However, we can guess. Personally I think it's entirely reasonable, indeed I'm surprised it's not more.
Whether it is worth you questioning it is entirely up to you. You could ask your solicitor to do so, and he might then quite reasonably charge you for this extra, unpredictable, work. Or he might not.
Or you could write to the vendors yourself and ask.
Frankly I suspect you will receive back some invoice/paperwork substantiating the £500, and will just be making trouble for all concerned, which considering the trouble you've already caused seems unjustifiable.
Maybe (just maybe....) you'll get back an invoice for £450 and save yourself £50. :rotfl:

Removal services price by demand. Friday is typically the busiest day. Chances are that if you had asked originally for Friday then the price would have been higher than on the Tuesday.June challenge £100 a day £3161.63 plus £350 vouchers plus £108.37 food/shopping saving
July challenge £50 a day. £ 1682.50/1550
October challenge £100 a day. £385/£31000 -
Ask the vendor for a copy of their invoice and terms and conditions. Then you can judge if the charge was real or not.
But otherwise just pay it.Changing the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.0
