Hi Snap;
We hired a wheelchair from the Red Cross for my dad, very reasonable.
Perhaps the carers could put you in touch with suitable organisations?
The NHS do have a medical loans dept, maybe this includes wheelchairs?
Good Luck anyway. xessex girl in exile0 -
I forgot to post this earlier, got 2 of these today for 20p each and the free Superdrug gift. :money:

Snap I am so pleased your dad is finally home. :T Made me have a bit of a tear as know how much this day has been anticipated. :A
I used to negotiate a couple of steps with my mum in her wheelchair. But it did used to frighten her a bit until she got used to me leaning the wheel chair back slightly.I was not the most brilliant of drivers. :rotfl: And there was next to nothing of her but I could not imagine doing it with someone heavier than me.
Only way I could get her on a bus was to go backwards as not all of them had the special platform or at least not all of the drivers were prepared to use them.0 -

GCSE options - I remember the miseries if it very well. At the time our school made you choose between Geography and History which was rubbish as most would have been happy with both. Everyone had to do Art wether they liked it or not. The only language was French and that was compulsory as well - Spanish would have been more useful or even Welch seeing as we are close to the border ...
You have not missed many sheninagins, I've not been about much either
Eldest child and BF have come to the realisation that weddings take a lot of planning so it looks like next year now. In the meantime last month something at work came up and everything went on hold for 3 weeks whilst they contemplated a move to Canada but this was capped.
Eldest son was down near Portsmouth doing a promotions course for which he should have had a £5k pay rise. Now he has the rank but no pay risehe is back in his normal base now.
Him and his GF are off to Iceland in March
Youngest son is still driving me crackers even though he is on the other side of the world
Sorry I've been so sluggish in answeringI do get there.
the postponed wedding isn't a bad thing. It gives you time in the winter to find the most super duper summer wedding outfit at a fantastic price. It sounds to me like the Apple hasn't fallen far from the tree there. She's being sensible, so 1 out of 3 ain't bad.....as meatloaf would say
You know the lads will always be wanderers and what better a way to live your life? They're travelling all over the world doing amazing things and although you miss them it must make you smile that you managed to create these amazing creatures. And what would you worry about if they didn't?
I feel like my life is just on the fringes of embarking on what you go through. I'm losing control. DS1 is on an orchestra tour in Europe and not always contactable (this is new to me) Lots of sighing and puffing. DD is totally concentrated on saving for her first wild holiday away this summer  that will be a whole other stress. Houseguest is in love and I talk about condoms with him way too often
and DS2 is my thermostatic control, where things never change. He's the the totally predictable thing that keeps my life balanced at the moment
Nice catch up. Much love to you :heart2:0 -

If you need an email address to fill in an online form and you don't want to use your real one as it'll get sold to spammers you should check out http://www.mailinator.com/
It's free and it's a way of generating an email address that only exists when you need it and it diverts all the spam you'd otherwise start to get in your real email account. Oh and it's free. I get no kickback for suggesting it (obviously as it's free), before anyone gets the wrong idea. There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0
