Lol, I haven't bought any turkey mince. Somehow I just can't face the thought of having to make anything with it :o

Has anyone tested the wonky veg glitch or found the 16 Shades for £1.50 reported last night please? Just wondering if worth venturing out?

    Many thanks

That's what I should have spent my £1 on instead of some Belvita! Typical:(:rotfl:! Pity the poor folks not in the know picking up one box at £3.50 and paying that. The supermarkets ought to be forced to stop me on the way in and tell me that these great offers are on - I need perfect information! Unfortunately this is one I'm going to have to miss(:wall::rotfl:) - typically we bought some veg. on the way back via Lidl:( - I won't bother mentioning Swede at 39p and Parsnips (500g) also at 39p:eek: (except I now have mentioned them:doh:) - probably end up paying more for that than 3 of these boxes of veg:( - and Morries want us to have wonky stuff - Parsnips 1kg - at £1:eek: - expecting us to pay what should be the offer prices on normal ones (50p for 500g) for wonky ones!

Firstly I doubt I could get these through the SS with an APG off (my stores are watching too much) even if I ever could find three boxes at this time of night anyway and secondly I wouldn't able to use a GC to buy them as I always have problems with those on SS (never remember which way up or what side they go in:o:o - even if someone tells me now, I will still forget when I'm there - just not going to be simple straight in and out:() - it will inevitably end with an SA coming over and noticing the veg. I could not think of anything witty to say at the right moment because of my Asperger's - I'd end up giving the game away:o, letting the cat out of the bag so to speak on this catfood:D. So, I'd have to pay £1 real cash. Our fridge is very full at the moment anyway - thanks to Actimels, Activias and other stuff though - so I just couldn't fit veg. into it as well. Even if it is about 33p a box. I suspect these boxes don't have very much in them - I thought £3.50:eek: for them was quite an expensive price! I'd put £1 on what looked like the contents of one box - no way are they worth £3.50 IMO and for wonky stuff that ought to be even cheaper:eek:! Obviously this is three times better (than even what was my price), but sadly it's one I'll have to sit out.

This is one of my favourite parts to all these glitches - when they come up with something totally random that makes me chuckle. Such as veg. picking up a catfood mbuy - it is just so funny:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:!
  • Good morning another gorgeous day!
I'm organising an event in aid of Cancer research as part of their Britain's Biggest Breakfast and to raise money I am going to hold a raffle. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with big companies donating prizes? I've had a look at the charities board and took some advice from there and I've contacted Aintree Race Course to see if they would donate some tickets.
Any advice would be gratefully received as it's the first time I've ever done anything like this.
It's being held at a local restaurant so all food and beverage prep has been taken care of its just ways of raising extra cash I'm looking for. They have kindly offered to donate a percentage of the mornings takings.
It's quite exciting now I've written it down. It's 11th March so time wise I haven't got very long.

Well done, and how exciting. The key is getting a named person (or their secretary's name)....... and hounding them.

Many years ago, I worked in a hostel. I had lots of fun, we had a greengrocer delivery fruit and veg, two large supermarkets were very generous with regular donations of food and paint, M&S gave 200 white shirts, all sorts of things.... the most weird was was a large bag of wheat, I taught them to sew heaty wheaty bags, and then market them at craft fayres... they bought two large televisions with the money they made.

So aim high, be cheeky, and ask for the world.... and you will be surprised at how much is given.

I would approach things like spas, local artists/crafts people, hair dressers, cleaning companies, catering companies (one friend had bought a meal for 4 couples to be cooked by caters in the home... it was a really good night), photographers, jewellery, (check out who is using Groupon and other similar sites in your area).

    Go for it girl.. x
