We went to T later as well - to use their money:D.
Supervised by myself so no real nasty overpayments!
We got the Minced Beef Pasty I didn't have at A - alright, paid 3p more but it's their money! (I think, although A and T are both 150g, T's dimensions are larger:rotfl:. Or, they seem that way to me - maybe I'm imagining it!)
Also some twinpack Toothbrushes at 18p - this is just normal, bog-standard Everyday Value range items and prices - there has been no equivalent at A for ages.
Plus I thought about the sponge mix earlier, when in A, but thought we'd have to buy an egg for that (so 22p + probably 85p for a pack of six and we don't do shortdate on those and always go for Free Range). I decided instead to get a rare purchase of the Value Raspberry Sponge at T at 59p, again not whoopsied but they were paying for it! Come to think of it, the egg is probably not free range.
Did anyone read about Mr Kipling switching to using barn eggs?
http://www.thedrum.com/news/2016/01/24/mr-kipling-owner-premier-foods-accused-deceiving-shoppers-after-dropping-free-range
In 2011, the advert said: "Mr Kipling is only using free-range eggs in all his cakes now, bless him."
Of course, there is now no reference to free-range eggs in any advertising but they don't exactly 'correct' or change the previous statement by coming out and saying they are now using barn eggs in their advertising! It doesn't say they are using free-range anymore but some people, who may remember the advertising which made a point about the use of free-range eggs, may well simply assume that they are still being used and that nothing has changed. Well, I suppose, more fool them again! People should read the packaging shouldn't they before they buy anything? It doesn't say they are using free range eggs on there apparently, so we can't take it that they are! There is no attempt to hide this. It is plain and clear by any omission from the packaging and people should pay attention to that!
So, if we thought "bless him" (or that's what they said) to "Mr Kipling" using free-range eggs, what are we now to think of him about him it seems using barn eggs?
So, anyway, we got a very rare purchase of a Sponge Cake - we don't have it very often, it's just an occasional treat - and A hasn't stocked any equivalent for ages on that either.
I didn't get the 75p Gala Apples though, as I decided they were too dear! Not because the Braeburn are 59p in Aldi, even if they are - we already have Braeburn and will, at some point, need another different variety of apples, but they turned out to be six pack in T - I think the problem was they did "+2 extra free" (=8) on the previous 69p apples before. So, that now, for myself anyway that remembers it, offering only 6 (of the Gala now, not Braeburn) appears to be very mean of them lol!:rotfl: We don't need apples quite yet anyway - and that's because we also have Oranges (from Aldi) and Pears, that will do, as alternative fruits in replacement of one version of apples, for the meantime. It's also because the packs of apples I have been getting, I have concerned myself with number, so that we still have some left and are buying them less often:T:money:. Sains Basics:eek: have actually been turning out to be good. I have found there to be 7 and 8 apples in those packs recently, even though they are at 80p, and they have been providing a different type of apple to the ones in Aldi or T. Clearly, with the Galas being 75p for 6 that would be a little in the high side and would work out better if I can find a pack with one or two more apples in it from Sainsbobs even if that is 5p more. So, not quite needing apples just yet anyway, I decided the T ones at 75p were too dear, for the six they were, and didn't bother buying any of them at all - instead that we might find some at Sains that work out better.
I liked it that the Conference Pears at my T tonight were totally OOS:rotfl:. That was good as I bought them from A, against T's cheaper price, a few days ago!:D I also walked past the cereals that I bought from A earlier. Maybe I just like going to T and seeing what I bought earlier elsewhere:rotfl:. Saying that, as well as the Crunchy Nut 750g that I later walked by - on the aisle end with quite some stock gone - I had earlier, in the same T, passed some very small pack indeed of Kellogg's Crunchy Nut that works out quite a high price:eek: compared to getting the 750g - or, better, getting that 750g pack elsewhere and paying for it with a womble:rotfl:!0 -

Wonder if they were the same fish? Can anyone tell:rotfl:?
(And I'll allow some pedants corner possibly to come in and correct me and tell me they aren't fish. I know that, I did that so that you could.)0
