Is it possible to connect a recordable freeview box or similar to a VT that had built in DVDs player and freeview please?

Yes, either via scart or HDMI, If your tv has a hdmi socket i'd go for a freeview box with hdmi as you'll get a better picture. . You'll only be able to record what's on the freeview box tho.

Sorry but don't know how to quote from 1 thread to another.

Thank you, yes recording from Freeview would be fine for me on the to I'm going to use it on, mwah :rotfl::rotfl:

SP Instant Mash not comparing against M.

    1x ASDA SmartPrice Instant Mashed Potato (120G) £0.28 N/A

But not to worry for me - over the sake of 2.8p - as I happened to buy this in a shop vs T at 28p. I think M's equivalent is a brand new item in M, unless myself, the APG and m.com have all being missing it for months:rotfl:. Therefore, it seems to be a completely new item for the system and goes into their approval process where it takes forever and a day for the higher up approval to check it and see if it is comparable and is another one where we wait around in the meantime for months. Give it six months;):(.

But, you see again, once in the store, my shopping plans go out of the window:(.

No Minced Beef & Veg. Pasty available so I had to replace it with these:
    1x Barratt Flumps (12G) £0.10 £0.10
1x ASDA Smartprice Rim Block Pine (EACH) £0.20 £0.20
At least I had enough items:rotfl:.

Then another item not available - I was originally going to have SP Toilet Cleaner but I had that on a different shop later on anyway and replaced it with the SP Mash. I was going to have SP Sponge Mix but then decided I'd need to buy an egg later:doh:. So, whilst messing with the bill down and up, the Gravy Granules became Mushy Peas, so I spent 6p more (the Mash instead of the Sponge Mix) and then 4p less (Mushy Peas instead of Gravy Granules) and then I put this onto the shop even though I now saw no price for T on msm earlier:

    Vs T
    1x Asda Smartprice Instant Custard Mix (70G) £0.15 N/A

I had already bought Rice Pudding (15p vs 15p T and M) on an earlier shop. That used to be 15p vs 14p T, as T is higher weight. However, the new system compares to T at 15p, so we have lost the approximate 14.12p price. Something therefore makes me averse to Rice Pudding against T (even though it's same vs T and M) and instead I pick up the Custard Mix!

    Vs M
    1x Asda Smartprice Instant Custard Mix (70G) £0.15 £0.15

So not the absolute best price on every item! I was going to avoid that in the shop and put some Lemonade instead but then I was messing with the bill by picking different items due to items being OOS and ended up with the Custard Mix!

    Vs T
    2x Nestle Shredded Wheat Bitesize (750G) £6.36 £3.18

We haven't had shredded wheat for a while - the amount of own brand cereal in my cupboard shows just how long the good prices have been away. More expensive now, due to no longer getting any free milk:(:rotfl:. That is straight comp., no glitch. Again, the SP cereals show how little we have had glitches on cereal of late. You can of course just buy one (or none at all:D) as T is on "half" price.

The Kellogg's Crunchy Nut 750g works as well, as does the Coco Pops 800g. On Kellogg's Crunchy Nut I ought to have waited for this rather than buying the Crownfield/Harvest Morn in Lidl/Aldi as 10% off £1.57 is a little better than 99p per 500g.

I thought I should have bought SP Coco Rice Cereal at 83p and that my Coco Pops (T £1.87:eek:) still worked out very expensive earlier. Therefore, I wasn't buying more than one pack of those! They are a very nice help though, to spending higher value vouchers and getting more back (very nice A price of £3.79). I bought all three really nice expensive cereals in a shop earlier - spent over £10 on those but got over half the bill back! However, with SP Coco Rice being 83p for 375g - though there may be a 10% vs Morries somewhere - it is, at A's price, just over £1.77 per 800g. So, Coco Pops 800g vs T at £1.87 work out better. Or, maybe they don't if I should have compared Coco Rice Cereal against Morries for 10% off, but maybe that doesn't work. Anyway, the Coco Pops (vs T) are not too far off and are better than what I thought. And the SP Coco Rice could never have got me that high spend to get more on the voucher back so Coco Pops are much better from that POV.

It's many thanks to T for the cereal offers.:)

Is the meal deal not showing up online? I am planning a C&C for tomorrow and have all the correct items in my basket but the deal isn't showing?

    Thanks xxxx

ok - kind of found it : http://groceries.asda.com/promotion/2-for-pound350/ls87080 but doesn't go in the basket for £5 - is that the glitch? thanks xx

Yup - as long as your cc/hd picking store is not trialling the new picking system and is actually running the offer.

Just make sure the paperwork has a discount for the meal deal and reject if it doesn't.

And remember they could fix the glitch overnight!

Hiya. Does anyone know if the Heinz spag bol tins compare well on A vs M. A price is £1.07 :eek: msm says M price is 50p. Am ordering anyway as OH likes them but would order more is someone knows if it would compare well.
    tia :)

You can imagine I was furious when I saw someone from this household the other week - they occasionally stay elsewhere and pop into the nearby A for a single item, perhaps their lunch that day, and without any APG vouchers or anything. Real cash! I found a receipt, where they just bought one of these, and nothing else, and paid £1.07! So, there is, occasionally, sadly, money coming out of this household via another way:(. I could have bought one on a different shop for them, using APGs, and it's not like we don't already have tins of this product in this house from a glitch some time ago. So, they could have taken one from the house with them. But, no, they bought a brand-new one:(.

I've already told them there is no need to pay real cash if we have vouchers they can use, and I shall be reinforcing that message again. However, I would not have had them buying this:rotfl:. They have no concept of price (like most people I would imagine). £1.07 for a tin of Spaghetti Bolognese is clearly high!

I did notice there were some Heinz tins at 50p in M on Wednesday - ordinary spaghetti, Alphabetti, that sort of thing. I didn't notice Heinz Spaghetti Bolognese - really I would be suggesting SP Spaghetti Bolognese against M at 15p - though that initially did not compare at all - last I had was that it was comparing against M but at the price of 16p - that may have changed to 15p since though. I wouldn't know about Heinz Spaghetti Bolognese price from M instore, as 50p for a tin of Spaghetti Bolognese is too dear for me!:rotfl:

I would certainly imagine that, as I merely happened to notice that some other Heinz tins were on 50p in M, that the Spaghetti Bolognese was 50p in M on Wednesday too and msm, indeed, shows that it is now 50p in M. So, I think it was probably 50p in M on Wednesday price check day. I am being way too cautious about that:rotfl:. Clearly it is and was 50p in M! I haven't seen whether it is comparing against M's 50p or not, although I don't see any reason why it shouldn't work.

I am told you could then dry the chickpeas themselves, place in a roasting tin, spray with Frylight & season with salt, chilli etc, cook 15mins, for a low cal version of nuts.
