  • Hooray, sounds like you're doing well KK! Great news for Christmas too.
  • I'm sorry to hear how rubbish work is at the moment. I'm in the same position and it isn't fun, so I know how you feel and am sending a virtual hug over the internet. Hopefully after seeing your GP you will start to feel a bit better, and don't forget that it's in your work's best interest to ensure you are fully trained and can do the best job you are able to so if you feel you need additional support or advice, ask for it :) If they don't provide it, that's something you can bring up in your 121.

I haven't heard of a Christmas Eve box with those goodies in but it sounds amazing! I think that's a tradition I'm going to have to start!

Well done on the OPs, you are doing so well x

Awww Charley, sorry to hear our Work isn’t being trouble too, it does suck, <hugs> but as I’m trying to remind myself: the Mortgage is being paid and there is food on the table for me, the beautiful girlfriend and our two kitties :heartpuls :heartpuls

Had a better week at work this week but it’s still a struggle- boss called me and was much more supportive and suggesting he changes how we are structured to make the work I’m being asked to do in line with my actual job role. He seemed to be thinking hard about how to make this better so I’m trying to have trust in him that things will change over the next few weeks- fingers crossed.

Had a NSD on Thursday- barely left the house on honesty. Made a lovely lunch of bendy veg (pepper, courgette, garlic) in a tomatoe sauce with mini pasta and some cheese- yum!

Yesterday was more spendy as we decided we would have a nice Chinese takeaway. We had been hankering for it for a while and putting it off- luckily there was enough for lunch today too. Yum!

Yoga first thing this morning which was challenging but great, we then stayed in town and bought some fruit & veg from the market and then bought a few Christmas presents- a posh Japanese whiskey for gfs brothers birthday in a few week, two bottles of nice flavoured gin for friends and pjs and slippers for the brother & gfs Christmas Eve box. Also mopped into Poundland for some boxed chocolates for their box, and some for us for Christmas.

We then took our weekly shop at Aldi- picked up a stuffed turkey crown for chrimbo for £8.99 which is now tucked in the freezer safely.

Feeling that we are getting prepped nicely for christmas, and we’re now home and snuggled on the sofa with hot wheat bags and blankets with the furries!

On the surveys front a Prolific is taking ages and not many surveys, Onepoll isn’t only at £1.85 (!) but Yougov is only £3.75 away from payout. I’m ever hopeful for payout this year.

OPs are now at £2,283.85 which is 106% of original stretch target, but only 91% of the new £2500 target. Still a way to go but hoping we can inch over the line.
    First home- Oct’16 until June’21: £170.995- Overpayments made £13,784 (25% extra!).
New forever home- Sep’21 £309,449 @ 2.05%. Plan to clear it before 30 years!!!!!!
  • Thanks for the hug, and the perspective. Like you said at least it's paying the bills :)

Well done with the OPs KK. I'll keep my fingers crossed that you get the Yougov payout soon x

  • Morning all, so I’ve been back to the doctors and have been prescribed some tablets to reduce the anxiety and am off work for the week now to try and relax/practice the CBT methods when calm.
It feels like a weight has been lifted for the moment so I am spending some time at home and trying to concentrate on positives and the things I can change!

Another Pinecone survey received, completed and paid out so the £3 was swiftly OP’d as well as a TT Of 63p. The figure is slowly creeping up.

Tried a new (to us) recipe last night using some of the salmon from Lidl- topped with red pesto & wrapped it in light puff pastry. Served it with a carrot, spinach & feta salad- delicious :D

I’m going to make a brocolli and Stilton soup later today: have some stalks in the freezer and the hard end of a Stilton also in there. Going to trim the purple sprouted brocolli we got at the market at the weekend and use the stems/lexcess leaves for the soup. Yum!

Off out for dinner tonight with our friends we see every three months for supper- going for a Turkish meal which will be a little more pocket friendly than elsewhere.

To keep my mind busy and get some mindful time I went to yoga at 7 this morning swiftly followed by the gym to have a run and a play on the cross trainer. I’m now scoffing some porridge with blackberries (from the freezer) before having a nice hot bath and a relax!

Off to read a few diaries and catch up with others :heartpuls

What a lovely but spendy few days....have eaten out for the past grew days with different sets of friends which has been just lovely :D

Went to Bicester village yesterday with friends- we left at 7am which I was dubious about but friends were certainly right- the crowds and queues by lunchtime were chaos. Luckily as we had left so early we managed to be done by lunchtime and head off for some lunch :) managed to buy a few Christmas presents and two jumpers for me which are lovely and weren’t too pricey. I was astounded how much some of the clothes and accessories were there, even with the reductions!

No further OPs this week- I went to make one today however nearly fell over when I logged into internet banking to find the sky payment has increased- by £50!!! Shall be calling them tomorrow to find out why such a huge increase!

It’s stir up Sunday today so I have got the bits out ready to start banging shortly. I love this day every year and can’t wait until it’s all baked and ready. Just having a cuppa snuggled up with Oscar whilst the gf has a little snooze- she’s so adorable!

Yoga this morning was great and I’m really making use of my £70 membership. As I referred another friend I have paid £65 for this month, but am attending 4-5 times a week so definitely making use of the facilities. I’m finding it’s helping me relax some too :heartpuls

Popped to Tesco’s earlier and found some good yellow stickers in the freezer aisle: Halloween shaped chicken nuggets reduced to 13p a pack- we’ve bought five for in the freezer to cook on New Years when our friends all come over. They also had 12 mini custard slices for 13p too so we bought three packs. We’re thinking of handmaking some pizzas, making cocktail sausages in honey mustard sauce, making chicken wings in a sauce, some roasted new spuds and then breads/cheeses/Dips etc so this shop was a good start towards it.

P.S the brocolli and Stilton soup was a definite miss- not sure where I went wrong but it was horrid. Ate one portion for lunch so it wasn’t wasted but binned the rest :(
