Well done on smashing your overpayments target Kittenkirst
  • Thanks TryHarder & Mortgagegirl :)

This week £2.30 I requested to withdraw from Quidco two weeks ago finally cleared so that’s been OP’d & I’ve had two Pinecone surveys so the £6 has been withdrawn. Will OP that as soon as it clears.

Had a frightful evening on Tuesday as my car tyre decided to blow out on the M1- very scary but managed to get it onto the hard shoulder and call the AA. 55 minutes in the dark rain later and the tyre was changed for my spare. So I’ve had to pay for a new tyre -£40- and the AA assistance- £99- which wasn’t budgeted for.

But....by fluke I managed to sell my brand new snowboard that’s been hanging around. A friend has started lessons so I jokingly said I have a board if you want it! She ended up getting all the details, doing nfernet research and giving me £85 for it :D

So I’ve ended up £54 down this week but it could have been much worse!

Had a lovely day celebrating my friends birthday today- we took her to a kitty cafe and then to a fab burger place we thought she & her hubbie would love and then had a wander round the shops and a good natter. Fab fab saturday.

Now snuggled down with Hugo and a blanket :heartpuls:
    First home- Oct’16 until June’21: £170.995- Overpayments made £13,784 (25% extra!).
New forever home- Sep’21 £309,449 @ 2.05%. Plan to clear it before 30 years!!!!!!

Hope you can get some support with the work issues and it's a positive step going to the GP, I had to do that in the summer and feel much better now. Good news about the snowboard sale but what a shame the money got swallowed up, typical isn't it!

I love the idea of Christmas eve boxes for adults, we do them for the children but enjoy it as a family and have built it up over the years so have items that appear each year.
    June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!

  • Well done Kittenkirst, at least you've got the mortgage positive to focus on.

And free Stone Sour tickets. I love Stone Sour (we nearly used one of their tracks for the first dance at our wedding), so that is definitely a good choice. :)

Glad that your home life is good even if work sucks.

    Morning MFW’s
Quiet week so far as we were on the slide into payday which has finally arrived! Hurrah!

We’ve now paid off our fitted wardrobes as of last month so have £100 between us spare- which for the next two months will go towards Christmas budgets! Yay paid off! This month we will have paid off the sofas which means we are another £150 a month better off so come January I can focus on ploughing back into savings as well as paying the last of the dental work installments off.

£2 from Quidco and £3 from Pinecone this week transferred over to the Mortgage and once the money shuffle is done another £119.80 will be sent today...slowly creeping up. I’ve calculated that to hit £2500 this year will need to find an additional £100 on top of our monthly OP’s....thinking caps on for where we could shave that money from!

Off to read a few diaries as I’ve been a bit slack recently then time to crack on with Work! Have fab days all x

  • Morning all, second £3 from Pinecone now received and OP’d as well as a 20p TT and the monthly OP which we made it to £119.80 so tracking at £144.50 which is pretty good so far.

I really wanted to OP the snowboard money however the AA callout, new tyre and the Download festival tickets mean that money is very tight! Also, after seeing the dentists it seems I need a mouth guard for sleeping as I’m sucking my cheeks in and causing ulcers which hurt a lot. It’s £100 for the mouth guard for sleeping- ouch!!!

Had a great week in the silver studio this week- finished the wedding rings for the wedding today, and also finished a spinner ring (also calls meditation rings) to send to a friend. I need to sort out my hallmarking and sort out a fine letter I’ve received from HMRC- eeeek! Fingers crossed it gets sorted!

Right, coffee break over, back to the laptop I go!

  • Forgot to add- NSD yesterday and hoping for the same again!
Am using up those blackberries we picked in the summer by having porridge with blackberries, grated apple and chopped plums (plums free from fruit bowl at work!) :D tastes delicious and is nutritious!

Managed to resist the lure of the payday takeout after yoga, and we popped a frozen pizza in the oven as a treat-y meal with less calories and no spending :D

You're sounding a lot more upbeat again KK - I hope that's a sign that things are improving/you're not letting them get you down!

Ouch indeed to the mouthguard cost!

Well done on resisting takeaway! (We caught up on Big Bang Theory last night and all the Hungry House ads were not helping my cravings for Chinese! We resisted, just about!)
