That’s DFOD; its such a relief now.; Was lovely on Friday as mum nipped off and treated herself to having her nails done in the afternoon. She’s never been able to just do that really, so it was lovely to see her do what she wanted, for herself
Today is the day for that wakeboarding lesson! Last minute I had to get a new swim costume due to the time of the month and the one I hadn’t packed into storage was white with navy stripes! not what I want for under my wetsuit- managed to be disciplined and spend only £10 on the swimsuit and its really lovely so I’m pretty pleased.
I’m all packed and ready to go at 12, even remembered the suncream (wishful thinking possibly!)- we’re carsharing over as its 50 min drive so will give some petrol money to the driver
Very nervous for the wakeboarding; I may go do some deliveries tonight depending what time i get back and how I’m feeling- will see later after all the excitement has passed.
More money on prolific cleared so £5.45 has gone to the mortgage equity pot, and another £2.50 has cleared so Prolific has caught up a bit and my challenge for the end of August is looking great!First home- Oct’16 until June’21: £170.995- Overpayments made £13,784 (25% extra!).

Morning all,
Weekend was just great; I didn’t do deliveries over the weekend in the end so last weeks extra pay will only be £29.85 (better than nothing though!), however Wakeboarding lesson was just awesome. The four of use had a great giggle and I managed to get up on the board 2x and was able to surf the waves on the board for a good 30 seconds (then 18 seconds ha).
We loved it so much we’ve all booked in for Early September, and Ive looked at wakeboarding clubs nearby maybe for next year!
Ended up with an impromptu night out with those friends as well as with the guys and got home at 3am following lots of Jägerbombs- luckily I didn’t have a sore head on Sunday, I was just very tired and a bit aches from the boarding!
Out of curiousity i opened Quidco to find £35.86 had cleared, so I requested that and sent to the mortgage equity yesterday. We’ve sat and planned how many days we will need to transfer the equity to the solicitors for the end of the month, as we can only transfer £10k a day.
We’ve booked our flooring man in with Redrow for the 20th to plan all of our flooring and discuss where the heating panel for the underfloor heating in the kitchen/diner will go.
The Snagging company are also booked in for 1st September, now we just need to sort out broadband for the property and contact the moving company when we have an idea of when the flooring will be finished, Super exciting now!!First home- Oct’16 until June’21: £170.995- Overpayments made £13,784 (25% extra!).

Afternoon mortgage free wannabes.
How on earth is it mid-week already? This week seems to be flying by; I got myself to the gym after work on Monday and did a body coach cycle 2 workout- suitably knackering so i finished it with half hour on interval cross-trainer. Last night I went to paddling club and ended up on a Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) for the 1hour 50! It burnt a lot more calories than the past few kayaking sessions I have had and today my thighs absolutely burn so I think that it suitably challenged me! I really enjoyed it although I didn’t stand up for long; spent most up on my knees paddling.
Ive managed to stick to the body coach meal plan for the past two days too which I’m pleased with as my eating habits are the bits i struggle with- Ive always been an emotional eater and a bit of a binger so slowly breaking bad habits takes some time!
We’ve just been out for a 2km lunch walk to get some fresh air and stretch my legs off a little and I’m hoping that helps get me to the gym after work this evening- will have to wait & see.
We had some money clear on Prolific first thing this morning so sent £8.45 to the mortgage equity pot. This always puts a smile on my face.
I decided this week to spend a little of the delivery driving funds- so I spent £40 on buying myself a shortie wetsuit for SUP and wakeboarding sessions (also for kayaking when it turns colder as can wear it as a base layer I’m hoping). Ive been looking at them quite a while and am pleased with the cost of this one; just hope the sizing fits as that’s always a gamble online and especially with wetsuits (unforgiving at the best of times) so now I need to earn another £50 to fill the pot back up from the drivingFirst home- Oct’16 until June’21: £170.995- Overpayments made £13,784 (25% extra!).

Lunchtime on a Friday feels the best- only a few more hours and freedom!
Feeling really pleased this week as Ive managed to stick to the meal plan for the 4.5 days so far (& dinner is prepped for tonight) and Ive got my workouts in. Tonight I have hot yoga at 5pm instead of a HIIT workout, which i feel will be good for my back as its a bit achey!
I nipped out for deliveries last night- just under 3 hours and earned £36.81 before any deductions (I got two £4+ tips too which was lovely, I think the last one felt sorry for me as the heavens opened and i got soaked trying to find her flat as she didn’t update the Uber pin, so I was rushing along a street in the rain!
Annoyingly, Ive made a “friend” on deliveries- I spoken to him a little on a few occasions and he’s asked me out for dinner- hmmm.
I had to explain in a few ways (as his English isn’t great) that I have a girlfriend, to which he told me it didnt matterto which I said it most definitely does matter. He seems to be okay with that but is insistent that we are friends, but last night was asking why I don’t talk to him. I’m always super polite if i see him in the McDs but I don’t have much to say really, and don’t like feeling pressured to be “friends” with someone. Odd situation really, will just be wary of this gent. I’m doing the deliveries to get out & about and earn some extra pennies, not really to have to dodge people
The deliveries last night were a bit varied so i got out and about more, but annoyingly my last drop off was to the middle of town, so it was an 18 min drive back home in the pouring rain whilst my belly grumbled through lack of dinner. I was very thankful I had the chicken butternut lasagne already made to ping when i walked inI don’t think it has ever tasted so good!!
We are off down south this weekend to see a friend by the coast so will be getting all packed up tonight ready; really looking forward to seeing her. Planning to repot a nice plant into a pretty pot holder and wrap with a ribbon (we previously sent flowers & vegan fizz when she got her flat) so this is a gift for the weekend reallyHopefully wont be too spendy a weekend, and the car has been serviced earlier this week ready (don’t want a repeat of last month!)

Ooh, KK, I hope that man doesn't become a problem - it made me laugh that he seemed to miss the point a bit though!
You deserve super kudos for sticking to the food plan while delivering other people's yummy takeaways - that must be so hard!
Have a good weekend!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

I was worried that you might suffer some kind of harassment doing deliveries but I didn't think it would be like this
You might have to start being rude to him to get him to leave you alone. Some people just don't get the message!
Enjoy your weekend!1 -
Be careful Kittenkirst, hopefully he's harmless, but it sounds like he's making you very uncomfortable and that is definitely not okay.
I'm sure you will handle it well, hope you have a good weekend break."Think of many things, do one"

Hi all, almost 2 weeks since my last post
The weekend away was lovely- Travelodge was a lovely clean hotel, but we had super noisy neighbours. We went out for a lovely dinner together, went to a nice bakery for brekkie for pastries and coffees in the morning (the price of one breakfast at the travelodge) and then drove down south. It was a chaotic drive as there were flash rainstorms which completely covered the roads and caused chaos. The drive takes 1 hr 50 usually- it took us 4 due to the traffic build-ups as lanes were closed on the roads etc.
We had a lovely rainy weekend visiting my friend and she made us a slap up vegan brekkie on the Sunday including scrambled tofu- which we both loved so will try making ourselves as its high protein as well as better for the animals!
Anyways we got back and I had some awful news, my cousin had passed away that weekend alongside his girlfriend. Shocking as he was 35. We’ve been waiting for the autopsy so the funeral can be planned. We had the update yesterday and its inconclusive; no real signs of what went on so we now wait for the toxicology to come back for them bothIt’s really sad; so young and his brother has now lost both parents and his sibling at such a young age. I spent the Monday with my cousin and his family; not really doing much but just being there and chatting etc. The funeral will be sorted today I think so I will know when that is & I think this weekend he will get the keys to the flat and I will go and help him sort my cousins belongings out (I don’t think he should do it on his own).
Truly shows you that tomorrow isn’t promised and we should enjoy each and every day.
Ive had some time to process it and am all okay; was pretty shocked at first, now I’m just sad for the loss of my cousin and feel sadness for my cousin (his brother) as its unimaginable what he must be feeling.
In more positive news, we have the day off tomorrow to visit the new house with our floor fitter to measure up, discuss all things flooring and choose what we want where, which should be great. We should hopefully get the 10 days notice of completion tomorrow fingers crossed, as the completion date has now moved back to the 3rd September.
Ive been Kayaking both last week and this week; this week was a trip in a canoe through a long old tunnel- super eerie but very tranquil really. I’m really enjoying the paddle club Ive joined; so fortunate to have it on my doorstep and so cheap too (I have timed it and its less then 7 minutes walk from my new front door!!)
I only managed to get out once for deliveries last week and made £24.93 in 3 hours so not a great amount really (better than sitting on my bum watching the tv though). I did get a JustEat delivery run last night which was pretty busy so alongside Uber I made £46.99 last night in 3 hours so that makes up for last weekIve got two more JustEat runs on Saturday & Sunday but I’m not sure whether Ill get to do those; all depends on when we get the keys to sort my cousins flat and how long that takes etc).
I have spent the first £90 of my delivery proceeds on a Dry-robe/changing robe for water sports and activities; we volunteered last week at ToughMudder (so we have a free entry for the 10miler next year) which was great fun, and I’d been looking at dry-robes for in the car for after kayaking/ wakeboarding etc so I chatted to several people about them. I looked on FB marketplace- people wanted £94 for a used one posted, however I found an online company (based in UK) that used recycled materials to make them and managed to order one for £90 delivered with personalisation. The wetsuit from SportsDirect arrived damaged so I sent that one back and put the money back in the delivery ISA, which now Ive spent £90 is sat at £220 (£40 for VAT) and will have this weeks earning added shortly so still a nice amount in there. I’m not sure what I’m saving it towards- I have many ideas in my head but will keep on building it up and make sure they are balanced decisions, not just impulsive splurges
Also, in good news this morning, I had an email that Ive won a £50 amazon voucher via a survey in prolific which im super chuffed with, The code has been added to my account already so I have £50 there to get something for the new house (hopefully)!
Phew, its been a dramatic 2 weeks really- thanks for reading to the end if you got this far!First home- Oct’16 until June’21: £170.995- Overpayments made £13,784 (25% extra!).
