Afternoon MFW-ers
I feel much recovered & refreshed after the nap and a good sleep last night!
Checking our savings and we’ve had the interest paid in yesterday- £27.16 which is pretty awesome, and we should get the same again next month as wont transfer the money until late month.
I went for a 15 minute walk at 7am today to collect some Olio veggies from my local FWH as she’s only 15 mins away- managed to get broccoli, tender stem broccoli & some lovely kale! Planning a chicken burger with all the greens for my early dinner tonight before kayaking at 6.45pm.
Ive also listed an adaptor for an xbox on local free cycle groups to get it out of the house- hoping the gentleman is collecting this evening so that’s another thing out of the house.
Trying to sort more bits for in-laws shop sale- due to take place on 27th, so we’ve contacted the lotto, paper delivery company, card machine for payments, sorted out indemnity insurance for windows, had a fire risk assessment completed and fitted smoke alarms. We need to move over my old chest freezer from the garage (we will have it in the garage at the new house) and a tumble dryer someone has given us for free (it looks fairly new and we barely use one so perfect and saves us some money!) so they need to be brought over to the shop as well as lots of stuff gfs parents have stored there over the 40 years.
Fingers crossed for next week pleaseFirst home- Oct’16 until June’21: £170.995- Overpayments made £13,784 (25% extra!).

Afternoon all, A busy weekend so far full of getting things sorted ready for next week, however it may be delayed as now the buyers are having issues with their lending- urgh! The sale has been going through since March 2020 so we all just want it finalised and for the in-laws to be able to retire. We’re still hopeful for Tuesday!
I went to kayaking on Tuesday evening which was good fun, and I did deliveries on Wednesday & Friday night. Wednesday & Friday night which took £95.48 (before insurance & tax) which isn’t bad at all. Ive got a JustEat run this evening 4.30-8.30pm so I’m hoping to end the week on £130 before deductions
We managed to get a Morrisons Too Good to Go box yesterday that was huge for £3:
Broadbeans (prodded & frozen), courgettes (prepped and frozen), 2 packs crumpets (frozen), garlic bread slices, 2 x cottage cheese (given away on Olio), beef pasties (given to a neighbour as Hindu house), sausage rolls, chillis, 2x mini Savoy cabbages, cheese mix, potatoes, mr Kipling choc slices, fairy cakes, green apples, strawberries & 2 quickie portions!
It came in a large veg box, which Oscar has commandeered as his now (ignoring his £20 fluffy bed!) and had been loving life in it!
We also got a costa box for £3 with 3x Bakewell tarts, almond croissant & triple sandwich so we’ve all been eating our way through these goodies the past two days!
Everything else is all a little quiet (thankfully!)

Yes he was most pleased @debtfreeoneday makes me wonder why we bought him a cat bed in the first place (I’m soft is the answer!

Lots of calls this morning about the sale of the business tomorrow- buyer has not had response from their lender yet for the residual amount so its not looking likely, unless they reply in the next few hours. As its a post office we will have to delay that and then the sale can’t go through until they can next slot in the audit and transfer- urgh!! Fingers crossed it is all sorted within the next few hours

Oh and I ended up going out for deliveries last night, and lovely gf joined me half way through to keep me company and be my unofficial driver
In 4 hours I clocked up £49.11 on both apps, including a £2 tip from a kind lady!
I ended the week taking the following: £144.59 which is not bad for 3 evenings with just under 11 hours worked.
So far the costs have been
- £37 for insurance (£6.25 of the insurance left) driver checks & the delivery bag
+ £299.17 payment
- £60 of petrol in the car (some for personal use- small amount- and I have half tank left).
- £48 kept aside for tax (calculated by removing the proportion for Milage based on the Milage calculator for tax)
So £154.17 profit for the moment, plus 7.8 hours of insurance and half tank of petrol left for this week/ the next
Not too bad so far I think really, and I am quite enjoying it. I feel a little bit proud as well that I have 100% satisfaction rating from 56 Uber Deliveries - 8 from restaurants and 12 from customers so far too
Ive said to the girlfriend, I will only do it if i feel safe and enjoy it- if it starts becoming a chore for me then I will stop as I just wanted to try it to boost my income.
Especially as GFs internal job move in September means she gets a £2k pay rise so will now be earning £5k more than me a year

So after a lot of frantic calls, chasing solicitors, conversations with the buyers and helping them sort out buildings insurance etc, their lender still hasn’t approved the asset purchase agreement (contract) but they’ve approved the general sale, so luckily we’ve got an extension from the post office to tomorrow to try and get the buyers funds all approved for the sale tomorrow.
Fingers crossed; lots of anxiety in the house yesterday and this morning; its out of our hands; we and our solicitors have done everything that we can, so now we wait.......
Luckily my work I have on for the new job is work I can do independently and can do in the evening too, so i ensured i made up a few hours last night as conscious my brain is on all the sale bits at the moment, but I don’t want my work to suffer as I’m enjoying it and they have been great to me so far!
Everything else is super quiet as we focus on the sale really; fingers crossed the lender gives the final approval today, then we do the huge stocktake and clean tonight, ready for the audit and sale tomorrow. Then we need to ensure her parents take all the meter reads etc and contact all utilities and services to advise of the change in ownership.
Please keep everything crossed for our family- we need the positive vibesFirst home- Oct’16 until June’21: £170.995- Overpayments made £13,784 (25% extra!).
