    Afternoon all, :wave:

    We're back from the Spa with our batteries very much recharged. (Literally we charged all our plug-in-ables before leaving! :rotfl:)
    We've tried to be true to the cause while away.

    * Didn't take the car over. Bought a day-long bus ticket to use yesterday.

    * The inclusive breakfast buffet was huge. We ate heartily and needed nothing for lunch. Snuck wee pot of honey and wee pot of jam out of buffet to bring home.

    * Went on a few long walks and OH did a lot of Photogra-faffing.

    * Took coffee out in a flask whenever we went.

    * Took running gear. Enjoyed running then using the inclusive pool and sauna afterwards.

    * Took our own alcohol with us and brought the remainder back.

    * Made full use of all freebies in our room.

    * Blagged the use of a DVD player while there, even though our room didn't come with one.

    * Made use of hotel minibus to travel to and from ferry terminal for 'free'.

    How is everyone getting on?

  • Afternoon guys :wave: thanks for starting the thread La E :A

    :rotfl: Bob! All of us calling our little ones "little owls!"

    ally sounds fab, still super jel!

    La E kudos for sticking to the GC budget. Chuffed with my GC budget myself this week too :D Stopped at Lidl on way home as needed a few bits and my total for the week is £27.18 :T and that includes a cheeky bottle of merlot & 2 steaks for a weekend treat :)

    Small things for the day:

    * met up with friend, went to the park with our little owls and then went back to theirs for lunch, coffee, play date and catch up :)
    * apart from cheeky items (see above) stuck to my shopping list
    * have done a load of washing - just need to hang up
    * checked banking
    * need to pay cc. Will do this shortly
    * B/D from stores - lo pasta from yesterday
    * bath and preen as we are going out this evening :)
    * oh's dm is babysitting so free :D :A :D
    * call back BB supplier
    * bath & dgd can have my water - will keep her occupied while I get ready ;)

    Think that's it for me for today. Happy Friday guys :p

    Thanks for all the get-well wishes. You are a very kind bunch of people. I dosed myself up with lots of black coffee & did manage to type a document I'd been putting off for so long, it was in danger of being added to the Annoying Things List! Am seriously wilting now,but hadn't realised that the lovely mr f is on a half day. So nice to have some company when one feels like death warmed up. My cold is so atrocious that (& I kid you not), as well as having totally lost my sense of taste, I can't smell anything at all.........not even a real 'tart's boudoir' of a perfume I was given for Christmas, or Olbas oil or anything! My nose has tuned into a tap & I shall soon be starting my 2nd loo roll of the day.....have given up on tissues as 'not up t'job!'
    Hope to feel better soon & to be able to post a proper MS list instead of moaning about snot.

  • DS2 is napping so managed to do OHs lunch for tomorrow and kiddies dinners. Pushed dinner time back and they are both sitting down, quiet and eating! It's been a nice afternoon just me and the three kids and I feel so relaxed and like I am putting more effort in and keeping calmer! :j

    make_the_change I was just thinking about you. One thing I do with my little girl - she's my granddaughter but I have custody of her - is when I need to get on and do something or even if I can stand no more toddler chatter and want a break is put her in the bath with a load of her toys and I sit just outside the bathroom in the hall. I have just done this so I could do my hair for this evening ;) Carves out a little time for me without her feeling ignored and demanding my attention. Just thinking when your youngest has a nap and you can do with a break

    I feel like I need to make the most of his nap time and get things done! But when DD is at nursery I do find I can finally sit down and have a cuppa and catch up on here :)

    Morning all :)
    Thanks for the start La E :)
    Hope Foxgloves and Jonno feel better soon :(

    So, what has today got in store for me?
    More housework :(Done the bathroom, bedroom, including moving the bed - on my own, and it is a king size brass one :eek: OH always disappears when there is something like that to do :mad:
    Dog walks x 2 Done
    Trip to the vet's for pup's monthly check / flea treatment / wormer if due (covered as part of the practice's pet club membership) Done
    HM meals from stores Done
    Check banks Not yet
    Load of washing, dry outside or on the airer, depending on the weather Got wet outside as it started raining :( Will put on the airer in a minute
    Spray fruit trees with organic winter wash stuff if it stays dry Too wet :(
    Pull up some caterpillary cabbage plants (in early February!) and give them to the chickens - hopefully they will eat the caterpillars as well :mad: Done
    Make a loaf in the bread machine Not needed today
    Trip to farm suppliers to get chicken food, bedding and compost to repot some big plants / small trees - so not a NSD today Decided I could manage another day before getting these, so a NSD :D
    Get OH to put up some pictures (I love old pictures, paintings mostly but some prints - not expensive ones, the cheapest I have was 20p :D - and have loads of them, everywhere :o) Not done
    Any surveys, FRP check etc Done

    Better get ready for the trip to the vet's - which takes about 5 minutes on foot :)

    Hope you all have a good day :)

    Visited a local kennels this afternoon, with a view to pup staying there if we go away. We have a wedding to attend at the beginning of April, so booked him in for then. It was quite nice (the person we saw was very nice :)) but I will feel guilty leaving him there :(

    Worn out after moving that bloomin bed :(

    Congrats to Maria's daughter :)
    DNMS, my little GD likes to stand on a chair (one with arms shaped so that it would be really difficult for her to fall off) and play in the sink - I run in some water and she has her tea set and some of my kitchen utensils. Keeps her quiet for ages. Need a mop handy though :rotfl:

  • Evening all :D
    I'm a bit embarrassed to say that I've gotten very little done today :o Tiredness finally caught me up and I have spent hours just sitting kind of in a bit of a trance, not doing anything. Oh, except for spending money :o So much for nsd today. Ah well - it was the W0rks and P0undland so I got a lot of stuff for my cash. I've ordered a couple of things for mother's day, Easter, Year 11 leavers and even Christmas presents. I blame my emails - got a discount code for both (20% off - PAYPAL20 for the w0rks and FEB30 for £land) :o:o:o

    [STRIKE]:o check banking and PAD[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]:o convince head of department that he wants to buy us all chips for lunch :D [/STRIKE] I did well here - he ended up going for luxury sandwiches which were very nice indeed
    :o use my free time at work wisely :o If wise is sitting staring into space, eating cake and sandwiches then yes. :o
    [STRIKE]:o sort through my 'box of junk' at work[/STRIKE]
    :o mark a set of books no
    [STRIKE]:o send a set of books for scrutiny :mad:[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]:o finally get one of the kids to hoover[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]:o clean the bathroom[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]:o find time to relax[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]:o find time to make appointments I've been trying to do all week[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]:o get ds to football training if he deserves to go (behaviour issues)[/STRIKE] dh took him for me
    :o aim for nsd :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
    Well it's been a weird old day all in all. Hope that you're on the mend soon Foxgloves - I hate when colds are so bad you can't smell or taste anything.
    Ally - so pleased you had a good break - sounds very relaxing.
    And Ziggy, thanks for thinking of me. It is indeed gymnastics day tomorrow (ugh) but dh will do the football again for me.
