Friday 5th Feb - What small DFW things will you do today??!

Morning all,
Not much of anything going on here today, money saving or otherwise. My lergy got worse yesterday & I found myself simply streaming with cold. We did manage to knock together a meal plan last night & did an online grocery order. Mr had a £5 off next shop voucher & a voucher for a free bottle of Prosecco. Wasn't sure could use both vouchers simultaneously (Sains), but they went through, so a nice free treat.
I've just been brought breakfast in bed & instructed to stay there & not do any of my usual Friday Big Clean. Am hopeless at doing nothing but I do feel achey & grotty as the cold streams on, so am going to read my book & be sensible. Cat is on sick bed duty, which could be a mixed blessing!
Stay well the rest of you. Keep your mitts on your money. It can't leap out & spend itself!
From an Immensely Snotty Foxgloves xx
Take Mr F's advice and rest, rest, rest. Hope you feel better soon. Love and hugs xx

Hi All
What a day!!!
DD passed all her exams. So that is good. No resits so she will be able to work right through the summer, (unless she fails something in the summer). This is worth a fortune to her as the hidden cost of a failed uni exams is astronomical. Likewise if a student has to resit a whole year, colossal money. Have no idea who DD takes after, but she does have a spreadsheet calculating such events. :rotfl:
Super busy in work.
So better get back to it.
Have a lovely friday everyone. Get better soon to the poorly ones.

Bless you Foxgloves even when your ill you cheer up those around you. I do laugh (with) you at all your funny sayings and find myself thinking of them in my own setting. My son has just discovered air quotes and uses them incorrectly all the time. Can imagine you using them often for your 'assertiveness level 3' 'big clean' etc:rotfl:

Congratulations to your DD Maria that's amazing! Yes I felt the same although it's been over 10 years since I graduated, I worked my backside off at uni had an evening job 5 nights per week then did 2 jobs at the weekend just to keep up with all my costs. The thought of failing anything was terrifying. It isn't half true what they say about privilege. If you've never had it then your future can be so blighted by the cost now of self progression. Hope you celebrate hard!" Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

Morning (just) everyone.
Just back up and running after a six hour power cut here, as well as one shorter one yesterday afternoon. Over two hundred houses down in the area and they are having trouble with a transformer, so I am not totally confident that it'll stay on. Still, the stuff in the freezer stayed frozen so that's fine.
My plans for the day are:
Walk the preschool run (already done the first one in the pouring rain, plus went to local shop to buy matches so that I could make a cup of tea!)
Husband and children taking packed lunches
Finish sorting out desk area, including archiving all old credit card bills
Contact Amazon seller to confirm that item still hasn't arrived after ten postal days. Not sure what my rights are here, though, to be honest
Go to supermarket this evening to hopefully pick up a yellow sticker weekend bonanza. Not sure what time is best to go in my area, so a bit of experimenting is in order
Sign both older children up to Bounts, if possible (they each walk around 15,000 steps per day and both got fitness trackers from a relative for Christmas, so might as well make a few pennies from it. Debating whether or not to sign myself up.)
Look into other smaller online things I can do to earn a few quid without too much effort 0 -

Make_the_change – you are doing amazingly well considering your LO is just 6m!! Check you go, superwoman!! :A

Not much happening here – just the usual really...

I have stayed in budget for this week’s groceries though :T Quite chuffed with myself for that one. And only spent money on car parking – that would be 5 NSDs in some books (you know I don’t like officially counting them though because when I do I end up splurging like I am some sort of rebel teenager who can’t keep focus!

Staying at the in-laws tonight so that will be nice. Driving over so much cheaper than train tickets @ £20 each
