A few years ago, a couple of friends of mine, both in their late thirties, were beaten up on the street.
What hurt them the most though, was the headline in the local paper (which naturally was pinned up in the local pub)
"Youths attack middle-aged men"0 -

Was thinking that 20 years ago I would have wanted holidays etc
Actually I'd go for most of those too.0 -
Hell no !!
New dancing shoes and clothes for me.
Lots of money would update the campervan.
Don't they say 60 is the new 400 -
You're old when you decide the current kitchen/curtains/microwave will last longer than you will, or when the comp winnings go towards a high seat chair or a prepaid funeral plan.0

Well all the people I went to school with seem to be 60 this year, but I am determined to remain 47. But having been widowed at 51 (oops!) and lucky enough to find love the second time around, I am determined to make the most of every day, enjoy every opportunity, use all my best stuff all the time and treat myself whenever possible. I've had HUGE pleasure from sharing stuff I've won with friends and family, but if there's any money ITS ALL MINE!

£7000 I would spend it on gin and chocolate and blow the rest..
Pay off the mortgage and have some left? You either own a shoe box or live well north of Watford.
You are as old as the man you feel ...Rational judgement, now, at this very moment.
Virtuous action, now, at this very moment.

Willing acceptance - now, at this very moment - of what you can’t change0 -
I spend whatever spare cash I have on travel, I'd rather have a head full of memories than a house full of stuff. It's killing me this year that I have to spend it on our house so we can sell it and move abroad instead of more adventures!0
