Am I getting old?

Options
I was entering a comp & the prize was £7000 & I started dreaming about what I would buy, I cam up with new sofa & chair, fridge, cooker, curtains, bed for the spare room, the electric fixed in the back room & the kitchen cupboards repaired, the I reckon I'd have enough left over to buy some new clothes.

Was thinking that 20 years ago I would have wanted holidays etc

I entered a comp for £100 vouchers this morning thinking "new kettle" I'm in my early 20s... then again my mother often said I was born old... :o

I'm with you - a comfy bed, cosy sofa, comfortable slippers and practical clothing and such prizes (or thoughts about what I might spend my winning on) are so much more appealing than heels, party outfits, Ibiza holidays etc! Funny how the way you comp changes as you get older!

I do have young children though so I enter to win things for them.

Usually when asked, eg, what would you buy if you won this £50 Amazon voucher, I usually say a new microwave, soup maker, slow cooker. In my younger years I would have said things like a new handbag, make up, tanning sprays! :p

I realised I was old when I was around 40, instead of throwing out an old pair of trainers I kept them for cutting the grass etc... Roll on death! :rotfl:

I have just turned 40 and that is when my thoughts/interests/preferences changed too! :rotfl::eek: Middle-age here we come! I also keep my old trainers as I think they will be good for cutting the grass or walking the dog on the beach!!!!

me too. btw - what comp for £7000 ?
  • I started following the KonMari trend 6 months ago and seem to have stopped entering the majority of competitions - 'I don't have space for it', 'why do I want that', so only seem to enter competitions for money or vouchers and as above, 'ooh, I can buy new bedding' :D

    7K

Oh that would pay off my mortgage :T

And leave some extra for a new fence out the back, do some work on the garden, a new dryer, another puppy and I would still have some left over ;)

Bugga can I join the "oldies club" too :rotfl:

Do you not have to be 50 to enter 50 Connect, I don't do those comps or the Older is Wiser or Gransnet ect.

I thought I was too young for those :rotfl:
