if you appealed to Elite then yes they should reply, but some use DRP or a similar company as their "back office" to handle appeals and NTK letters etc
might be an idea to appeal to this NTK using the same appeal letter and a copy of the proof as well like you did before, especially if you can do so online , twice is better than none
have ELITE acknowledged your appeal ?
have you got proof that an appeal was made ?0 -
The appeal was made by email - I've triple checked the email address I sent it to and it wasn't pinged back so they must've received it. They did not acknowledge it
Do you suggest forwarding that email to the appeal email address for the new company?0 -
yes, I do, so both have had it and especially as you have had no proof that an appeal was lodged successfully
ie:- ELITE had 14 days to acknowledge it and 35 days to make a decision, neither has happened , so this "back office" has kicked in and correctly sent out an NTK (which may not be compliant but is in the correct timescale)
so yes, duplicate the appeal to this new company0 -
Original email forwarded to new company which shows date of original appeal.
Thanks for your help and time, it truly is appreciated.0 -
In both appeals did you include the PCN number, VRN and your full name and POSTAL address? If not, they probably ignored it (usually the PCN lists stuff they say you 'must' include in any appeal). Check you did.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I included all those things EXCEPT the VRN.
I did clearly show Elite's reference number though which is presumably what they use to locate the PCN details.
This feels like a such an obvious thing to have omitted. I hope I don't end up having to pay £100 for my silly mistake.0 -
You do NOT have to pay £100 to Elite! What makes you think you would? Just because they might pretend an appeal was lost (what do you think we all did before appeals existed in 2012...no-one here just PAID?!). This really is just a scam, and you are trying to beat it early rather than having to ignore a pile of debt collector letters all year or longer.
Paying isn't an option here, not on this forum as regards a charge from this little firm.
Just forward the appeal again to the company on the letter.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thanks for your reply, I thought as I'd not followed their "rules" by omitting the VRN they might be able to say I didn't submit an appeal within the 28 days and get me to pay that way.
I forwarded the original appeal to this new company on 11th March and haven't had a reply yet so will wait and see what they say.
Thank goodness for the clued up people on this forum!0
