Honey, if you have a 6 month old you have probably been tired and sleep deprived for months, which can make the best of us get things out of proportion at times :). Take care of yourself :grouphug:

I agree with the others, people do use FB to portray an idealised picture of their lives. Try not to let it get to you - you are extremely unlikely to be the only one in your circle on there who has debt! DNMS is right - when they are so little, free or cheap activities are just as much fun for them. I look after my 2 year old grand daughter at least one day a week, and her favourite activity consists of a pair of wellies and a puddle :rotfl: When you are debt free, and they are older, there will still be plenty of time to do more spendy things with them (now and then, as a treat) :)

Bob, glad you are home :) Remember to take it easy :naughty:

    Definitely exhausted emotionally and physically.

Thank you for your kind words x

  • Just one more get up until the weekend. :j
DH has taken dd to cheerleading. I need to find £60 for her uniform! As if her training fees weren't enough.
make_the_change - you've had fantastic advice as always from everyone on here. Sleep deprivation and young kids are hard times. Be kind to yourself - make sure you get some fresh air every day if possible and make a list. I do love a good list - do some baking, or salt dough with the kids? Even the little things feel like big accomplishments to me (see below).
Bob I'm so pleased you've been allowed home today :j
I had to bring work home with me tonight, which I only finished half an hour ago  but I can now have time to myself.

:cool2: use my free time at work wisely 2 hours after school doing revision with a couple of kids. Good for them - less so for me.

    [STRIKE]:cool2: get dd to cheerleading[/STRIKE]

  • Hi all. New to these threads. Previously in debt, so I hope you don't mind me posting here.

    Today I have:

:) Sorted out old paperwork in and around desk (I don't need MOT certificates from five years ago!)

:) Walked the preschool run (pretty sure the other parents think I can't drive, to be honest)

:) Saved £60 on the cost of our annual home insurance, plus should be getting £50 cash back

:) Stood and prepared sweet potato for dinner as planned even though I felt exhausted from all the sorting

:) Shared my youngest's bath rather than have separate shower

:) Downloaded free trial of YNAB and had a play, although will probably stick with my spreadsheets

:) Nabbed some Ideal Home Exhibition tickets for free via MSE (maybe not so money saving once we factor in the cost of getting there!)

:) Kids and husband had packed lunches as usual

:) Took all my meds (I have to take 10 separate pills a day so it's a bit of a drag)

:) Unpacked new router for upcoming cheaper broadband

:) Realised I could email solicitor PDF of something thus saving paper, ink, and parking in town

:) Older kids did chores without needing nagging

:) NSD (we don't count bills do we?)

Savvy Shopper! I've been Money Tipped!

:) NSD (we don't count bills do we?)

No. But most people here will have different ideas on what counts in a NSD challenge. For example I count anything that isn't a DD. If I buy travel, shopping anything that breaks the NSD treaty ;)
