Although i know you don't need to store them in the fridge, i do just because i feel it might help their longetivity after their use by date...i have used ones that are quite out of date without ill effects and i feel the fridge has helped.
As i notice bread kept in the fridge can be fine for up to 2 weeks but on the side in the kitchen perhaps it lasts 5 days before mould sets in.

    Hi princess loki,

I store mine in the fridge but always bring them up to room temperature before using them for baking.

There's an earlier thread with lots of opinions on how best to store eggs so I've added your thread to it to keep the replies together.

Apparently if you keep them on window sill on a hot day they can cook / explode!

he he!!! that could be interesting! may try it with the kids under a cut off pop bottle in the garden when it is hot - should keep them busy watching for a while!!!!!!!
it's nice to be important but more important to be nice!! :kisses3:

I keep mine on the countertop. I find that if you have any strong flavours within your fridgethe eggs will tend to taint. As long as you don't store them next to the fireplace and cook them well. I think the risk is minimal. But I am no medical expert I am just going on personal experience

You should store eggs pointed side down to centre the yolks and I use one of these
http://www.egg-skelter.co.uk/ to store mine - they are great
i also have free range hens at the bottom of my garden giving me loads of eggs
Saving in my terramundi pot £2, £1 and 50p just for me! :j
