I have always wondered why they are not refrigerated in the store, although I understand that they are in the US?0 -
Maybe UK supermarkets are cooler than the average home?
That h2g2 link is good. I wondered how long it was okay to keep boiled eggs for (2 weeks). I might be a little more organised with the new years resolution to make my own packed lunches!0 -
my chickens lay them, then they go in a china hen on the worktop. They are very fresh, and don't hang about very long.0

I put mine in the fridge, point side up will be because there is a cusion inside the egg at the round end, must have something to do with it.0

At college I learned that if you refridgerate eggs it makes the shells more porous, meaning they go off quicker.
I still fridge mine though, as i haveno work surface space what with the slow cooker, breadmaker et al. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -

I store in fridge then bring out before cooking them, especially in summer months I find they go off quicker when we left them on the bench. Get them from farm shop and pretty fresh, sometimes even warm/soft shells when they have just been brought in, usually have to clean the poop off myself if making dippy eggs. One day I might be more organised...........
GC: £200
Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb0 -
