I was involved and did send them a message, as MissBiggles1 and I were in agreement it might be nice if people who weren't in agreement showed their support for her. She seemed very low and even said she wished she could go to sleep and not wake up, she then said she was in tears and left the thread so I think concern is not misplaced and support would be charitable.
And that's great - which is why I suggested contacting MSE in the first place.

I've read lots of missbiggles's posts - including some great ones on the various WASPI threads.
I've agreed with quite a lot of what she's posted and disagreed with some other posts.

I didn't read any of the posts on the now disappeared thread.
It wasn't a thread that I read anyway.
I just pop onto the 'over 50s' board as I'm over 50.

If I had read any of the posts and was in agreement with you about this:

I am worried about MissBiggles as she posted no unpleasant posts at all
I would have no hesitation in contacting MSE to add my support for reinstatement.

But it's not a case (for me) of 'not being in agreement' with anybody.
I am totally ignorant (in the original meaning of the word) of what was posted by whom so I don't feel it's appropriate for me to lend my support.

I hope missbiggles feels better now a little time has passed and that any action taken by MSE really is just a short-term sanction.

I'm going to leave this now as apparently MSE ask posters not to 'talk' about anyone who has been PPRd.

It may not be a permanent ban, from what I have read of the rules two weeks seems to be the timeframe. I am sure she will be happy to see she has support. As you say her posts did not deserve such a punishnent. I will also do as you suggest.

I hope all goes well with your hospital tests.

I have had one lot of tests done earlier in the week, blood tests today and already have the appointments for the colonoscopy and a Consultant's appointment. I know the NHS can sometimes be slow and we all moan if we have a long wait in A & E or something but when the chips are down I think they are wonderful.

I am upset at the moment, such a shame as I had a lovely little trip away but now I have had a nasty aggressive PM from someone and and trying to concentrate on the positive ones.

Going to do some sewing now and try to relax. Finishing my cuppa first of course.

Report it - and the nasty person who sent it.

I'm not party to your health issues but I wish you well (I hope that's not inappropriate :)).

You really should report it. There is no excuse for cowardly behaviour like that. Whoever sent it should be thoroughly ashamed, and MSE should be made aware of it.

I have given them warning that I will report it if it happens again. I hope this will be the end of it.

Pollycat thank you, I am hoping if it is what they are testing me for then it will be early enough for a positive outcome.

Is it a possibility to give a link on this thread for that one up to the end of page 56 (ie up to and including post 1120 on the set-up I have on my p.c.)?

.....and then continue as per normal from then onwards - and ignore the posts 1121 onwards on that old thread (though that would mean ignoring some useful ones as well unfortunately).

That would cut out the bit where it all started going adrift (though many of the posts concerned seemed to have been removed by MSE).

There is no need to ignore any posts and certainly not from the post you suggest, everyone's contribution to the thread was/is valuable as opinions were talked out. There were a few posts deleted certainly two of mine but I can appreciate why as one quoted a particularly offensive post but there certainly wasnt many posts deleted as you suggest. Provided people Don't cause offence they are allowed their opinion.

Hoping missbiggles is okay and will be reinstated as I'm not aware that any of her posts were deleted.

The thread has run its course and there is no point in raking up old coals now. There is plenty of opportunity if anyone wants to start a new thread on how to deal, mentally and practically, with certain issues that did come up towards the end of the thread.

A dedicated thread may well maintain a better tone throughout and would be supportive to people going through their own personal crises, not necessarily having actually been through a close bereavement or having to suddenly learn to live as a single

Living in the moment is how I get through life now, it is a nice place to be. :)

You started a very valuable thread, Kittie, which seems to have helped you. However, it seems a bit selfish to say it's 'run its course' as others are experiencing the same loss and will continue to do so.

To be honest I think that was said because of the way the thread ended, buts its open again so not much use for this one now.
I am not a widow but I read every post and found it very useful and must have given many people support.
    Very glad its back again.
