You sound as if you have enough love to give between you wherever a child originates from ! Lots of luck to you - you could make some extra money writing a book about your journey maybe

The most important thing in all of this is the child. Not the lifestyle choices of the "parents".
But if you want something useful and finance-related to mull over, you might want to look at this, if you haven't seen it already

I presume then, you and your partner are female?
No we are male, my name is Matt.
We are already aware of the surrogacy laws etc as we have been keeping up to date with it for a long time now.
Yes your right about the focus being on the child, thats all it is ever about. As for lifestyle choices, im not sure what you mean. We are exploring available options for gay men to have children so i'm not sure where lifestyle choices come into it.2016 wins: Screening of The Conjuring, Toy Bundle, Fitbit, DVD, book, Cool bag filled with drinks, Meal for 2 at Marygreen Manor, NFL tickets & Marriott hotel stay.

I do have to laugh because we have gone so far off topic! From asking about making extra money to defending our life choices!:rotfl:
Thanks all that have commented something useful!
As a Mum thanks to donor eggs I'm probably one of the few on this board who actually "gets" what you mean.
Below is a link to the section on the Fertility Friends site where 2 lawyers moderate. Natalie and Louise specialise in fertility related issues and their signatures provide links to their practices. Their sites should give you some more information re donation and surrogacy agreements.

I think you need to do more than a superficial Google search on the subject. Same sex couples can also be IPs (Intended Parents).0 -

I know not everyone will understand the struggle some people have to go through to be able to have their own families but it's good to know there are people out there who do.2016 wins: Screening of The Conjuring, Toy Bundle, Fitbit, DVD, book, Cool bag filled with drinks, Meal for 2 at Marygreen Manor, NFL tickets & Marriott hotel stay.

so it seems..
But if OP wants financial advice the best advice might be to not spend thousands of pounds and risk the baby's mother not wanting to give up her child.
The question of how to raise the money.. maybe look on the up your income board, if you know how much money is going to be needed.left the forum due to trolling/other nonsense

Have you considered surrogacy overseas ? I know a few people who've had surrogacy from India, though I believe they have now banned it. But, I believe China allows overseas surrogacy. Not sure how difficult would it be to get them back in this country once the child is born0

Most (sensible) countries do not allow surrogacy, and rightly so

Care to elaborate on the bold?
Why should surrogacy not be allowed?
If it gives people the opportunity to have a much longed for child (regardless of their family set up) and all parties involved know the situation and agree prior to them embarking on the journey then who are we to say it shouldn't be allowedFirst Date 08/11/2008, Moved In Together 01/06/2009, Engaged 01/01/10, Wedding Day 27/04/2013, Baby Moshie due 29/06/2019 :T0
