Using an umbrella company to avoid child support

I've been in contact with the CSA/CMS for 10 years. They cannot do a thing. He has no dividends, and post accounts yearly. His company has £5,000 capital. No assets. He is working for a Chinese airline and is paid tax free. He gets $18,000 a month. He is hiding his money from HMRC. I don't care about that. I wish he would pay a respectful sum to his children.
On the figures that you are supplying he is not being employed by the Chinese company through his limited company. He is being paid by a Chinese company in China either directly or through another process probably all legal
He has a UK limited company appears to be getting paid for some sort of service that it provides them. This is the only money that will be visible to the HMRC and available to calculate CM.
How and where the rest of his alleged salary is paid is pure conjecture as it doesn't go anywhere near anything that HMRC either from a tax or CM pov would be able to investigate and take action on and while he works abroad and meets the HMRC rules then it doesn't have to. While he stays out of the UK for the requisite time then the only money available is that which is declared in his company accounts.
He is doing nothing illegal although it appears to rankle with some peoples sense of morality.
TBH there is no real reason (that has been postulated this thread) why there is even money going into the limited company, although it could be legitimate business transactions. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. 2 sides to every story and we hear a very emotive 1 side.
TBH if the guy is clever enough to be a captain and has decided he's not going to contribute above a minimal amount then the chances of him being catchable are slim to none.
If I were the OP I'd get on with your life and stop wasting energy on him - karma may make an appearance in the future0 -
These moral arguments are really pointless.
They would only be effective on the subject ( the ex ) and it's unlikely he's reading it.
Morally - no one is saying he shouldn't pay.
But legally - it appears he doesn't have to.0 -
Why not become a pilot then if it's so lucrative? I posted a link earlier in the thread, some have to pay for their own training etc, and that was echoed in the documentary I saw, some reasons why it's not cool to be a pilot.
I am really not sure what point you are making here? I have a career, but thanks.
The link I gave is current and from an industry site.0 -
Oh! I've never heard of this! However, I took him to court and spent £10k in lawyers fees trying to get him to pay. I was granted maintenance @£1000 per month. Immediately after, He upped and left for China, set up the company and called the CSA with his £600pm pay slip. Back to square one.
If he lives and works in China, why did he bother with setting up a Ltd company and/or contacting the CSA. He'd be home and dry out there - afaik being overseas precludes them chasing him?0
