Which is best, a pressure cooker or slow cooker? I already have a pressure cooker but wondered if it was worth getting a slow cooker too.0

It comes down to personal preference I think. But I have had a pressure cooker for years and wouldn't be without it whereas I have found the slow cooker I bought after reading about them on here to be a bit of a disappointment. Having said that I have one of the old Prestige pressure cookers with three weights - I think they are a lot more versatile than the new ones or the Tefal ones which only have two pressure settingsIt doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0

Hi ambernora,
We have a thread on this very subject that should help you, so I've merged your thread with it as it helps to keep all the replies together.

Hi guys, not been on here for a while, but I need your help. After many years of trusty service, it's time to replace my pressure cooker. The one I have at the moment is aluminium, but I'd like a stainless steel one next. Does anyone have a recommendation? I need at least 4L capacity.
Thanks.0 -
Hi everyone,
A local shop is having a sale next week and they will be selling Anthony Worral-Thompson pressure cookers for £19.99. (I only mention the brand in case anyone has got one and can advise on their quality). This seems like a good price to me and I have the impression that it would be handy but am not quite sure why
I know that it would cook things quickly, hence saving on the old gas bill, but otherwise I'm not sure 1) What I would use it for, 2) How money-saving they really are?, and 3) Would it be worth the outlay of £19.99?
If any of you have one and can tell me what you use it for and if you find it money-saving, I'd be grateful for you input.
Thanks a bunch,
TessTess x

I've got a Prestige ( I think ). I find it invaluable in the winter for stews, soups, pot roast type things. Quite moneysaving in that you use less fuel and can make delicious meals out of cheap cuts of meat without having the cooker on for hours. In fact, you can make a nourishing tasty meal quickly with scraps of just about anything.
Go for it.
