Nothing to add as of yet but have sorted a pile of things to list on Thursday. I have been hunting around and have found a few extra receipts to claim back on my expenses and have 4 lotto tickets to check. Fingers crossed I will be able mark something tomorrow :)

just had to fire off an email. the second hand phone I bought will not switch on at all today. and even the staff at the shop could not get it to switch on but refused to refund or replace. I kept telling them I was not interested in cosmetic damage which did not affect the fact that the battery was faulty from when I purchased it to the fact that it would not even switch on now.

so have sent to the founder of the shop and requested a refund or replacement, as I cannot be without a phone full stop. I have a child at school and no way for the school to contact me if anything happens.

and apart from that why should I have to purchase another handset when they sold the original faulty in the first place!

anyway, rant over, while doing this, found some useful stuff

As you well know Aesop - we are all more than pleased for your worthwhile rants. I know I wouldn't want to argue with you though. I hope they soon sort something out - how very annoying

Evening all and a warm welcome to more new peoples :hello:

Today I have £15 interest from bank and 50p from survey to add :D

Well, taking Martin's advice to book flights early, I decided to try to sort flights for our annual visit to DS in Ibiza for September.

I have just spent a couple of hours trying to sort and...managed to get flights from Edinburgh return with BA for £492 for the two of us. This is with using £60 saved with Avios points from Mr T as well.

BTW that's £199.80 cheaper than Jet2 for nearly the same dates, which was the one I was going to book, until I had another punt around. whoopee!!

So Aesop - can I add the total savings, as I did hunt around, or just the Avios points used ??

wow! well done. when I want to book a holiday coming to you!

as you know I always say, if you can transfer the money saved to savings/debts/holiday fund, etc you should add it. otherwise just add the Avios points.

Not much to report but my ebay listing is at £7.92 so not too far off target now i'm on day 2. Have another item to list tomorrow and found 10p today so it'll go in the pot. Joined market research site P0denga last week, its focus group work and although they do quite a few workshops in my city, i'm still yet to qualify for one. Joined Prolific too but not eligible yet for anything. Mystery Shopping sounds interesting but there's no much information on the thread its hard to get your head around it when your tired! We don't have a car either so that could be tricky, but live 4 miles from Leeds city centre so can reach the city quite easily on the bus.

Right i'm off to bed as working away tomorrow and up at 5.30am to get an early train, boo! Hoping to take my breakfast and most of my lunch to work though!

quick scenario on MS. don't mention client names or fees. they don't like it.

sign up to as many companies as you can bear, as they all have different work at different times and clients will change MS companies.

register as self employed, keep receipts, and keep a spreadsheet of jobs, expenses, travel costs, etc to claim back in the next tax year.

some of the jobs aren't worth the fee! think about it before accepting. if you are going to be in area anyway at no additional cost to yourself and it fits in with your schedule, go for it. Remember you have to write reports after and most companies expect them in the same day as you did the visit.

I have one now to complete that i have put off all evening.
