£20 from a mystery shop for me today.

I've also finally decided to switch from Sky to Virgin. I've been looking for ages but when you start going through the details, it's hard to decide which package is the best. I had cheaper offers from BT but as I'm not sure if we have a working aerial decide to go for cable. This should earn us £140 cashback but not counting this until it's all gone through. There will also be a saving on our monthly bill, as Sky had gone up hugely. Sure I could have got a discount from them but we've had poor service so wanted to switch. I think the only channel we will lose, that we actually use, is the Formula One HD, but it will be cheaper just to do day / week subscriptions to Sky for this when the races aren't on Channel 4.

Ooh I would LOVE to do mystery shopping!!! Is it easy to get into??
  • Today I received a cheque for £142 and some pennies from Her Majesty :) after I finally worked out how to claim tax relief on my Union fees last week whilst on half term. Going to put it towards clearing my overdraft as I have a £1000 I never seem to clear and have decided to make a 1% challenge when I can see exactly how much the debt is on Sunday (payday is Monday). Using all movies claimed back through refunds for this (whereas I use all money made for CC's).
Just gonna bump all my FB sales and then plan on making a few bits tonight ready for photoing and uploading tomorrow :)

I have been doing it solid for a year after being made redundant and hate it!

On the up your income board there is a thread about mustery shopping. Have a read of the first few posts and some of the thread. They can be a bit pretentious on thwt board, so be prepared.

Mystery shopping is OK, you need to sign up for each MS company individually, then apply for jobs when they appear on their job boards. There's a thread on Up Your Income as Aesop has said, I rarely post on it now as people seem to mainly fight on there unfortunately. You do need to register as self employed to mystery shop but it's quite quick and simple to do this.

If you are thinking of doing it, I'd recommend signing up for Bare, TNS and Grassroots to start with. The other ones I shop for are Helion, Abai, ESA and React. The work available is very variable, as are the fees and attitudes of the different allocaters. The ones I've mentioned here are usually relatively pleasant to deal with, although they all have their moments!
