No I don't............ do you Clapton? Twist the debate as usual. You are so predictable:rotfl:

I'm sure we can both agree it would be better to be more even handed if one wants to make such remarks which weren't relevant to the main points

What happens if he's not nominated yet most Republicans prefer him? Will he stand as an independent splitting the right wing vote and giving the Democrats an easy victory? Either way this will tear the party apart!

No, you just want it to tear the Republican Party apart.

There does seem to be a pretty strong Anyone But Trump movement. How much that movement is just the projection of foreign and Liberal media and how much is genuine is hard to say.

I find that outside the US media it's basically impossible to understand what's going on with the Republicans. If you try reading the non-US media about the Republicans it just turns into some mush of words with things like abortion and guns written in block capitals.

Since 1980 the US has had 20 years of Republican presidency and remains the richest country in the world with the most powerful military, greatest cultural reach and is still one of the freest countries on the planet.

538 suggests that either Trump wins on the first ballot in the convention or its Cruz.

I was listening to an interesting thing on the ABC (US not Aussie version) which reckoned that Trump had a weak hold on his Electoral College votes as he didn't have a big team set up at the start or a group of supporters. As he didn't have a grassroots he hadn't the time or facility to get a group of people for the EC that were firmly in his camp.

No idea if that's true or just ABT.

There was an interesting analysis in the Atlantic a couple of months back. Warning it is l-o-n-g, but does give some background to the issues faced by the Republican Party.

It's written I believe from a liberal perspective, but it is pretty insightful (though less so I thought the last few paras). Bear in mind also that events have surpassed parts as it was written in Jan.

BBC are practically crowing this morning - they obviously don't realise that Cruz is even more the antithesis of their 'liberal' views.
    I think....
