Oh, and those who gave me the tips on storing the leftover chilli's thank you so much, they have been stored in the freezer for next week :T:T
Managed to do some extra things as DS2 has gone out with daddy for the afternoon...sort through loads of old paperwork no longer needed and begun shredding

DMP Started June 20160 -
Morning all!
Went to circuits last night and managed to not punch my instructor! (He's lovely - it was just one of those sessions where my brain was telling me to throw a strop!:rotfl:)
Today I have/will:-
* Checked banks
* Cleaned kitchen
* Make smoothies for breakfast
* Take lunch to work
* Remembered mum texted me wombled asda code - £2.45 coupon printed at work!
* Charge phone in work
* Check FPL
* Update work expenses
* Finally got the pay information (normally get paid on 25 so it's been a very long month!) so do money shuffle, pay off debt
* Update spreadsheet, snowball and signature
* Make payment off holiday so second deposit is paid (not due until March) - QUESTION - I paid the initial deposit on my CC, will I now benefit from the protection if I just pay straight from my bank or is it better to pay on CC which I then pay straight off?
* Dinner round friends tonight - so free food and I get cuddles with her beautiful baby!
That's everything I can think of for now, but I'll be back later if I think of more! Hope you all have a good day.Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89
Current debt - £5,935.00
Total paid off - £9,665.89 (61% paid off)0 -
Morning Friday Frugalistas,
Well, I woke early because the gales were howling around the bedroom windows, so I got up & hoovered the upstairs while we were still on cheap tariff, so a good start. Other bits & pieces of money saving today:
*mr f has volunteered to pick up the grocery shopping at Aldi on his way past later today. We'd planned a Sainsbury's trip (next town) but he quite rightly said that all the bog standard stuff we need will be cheaper at Aldi so we will just pop into Sainso's at the weekend for anything outstanding.
*Remember to make packed lunch for tomorrow as mr f has to work but doesn't think he'll get much of a lunch break. Will make tiny sandwiches which can be shoved in whole if necessary!
*Have cleaned whole house using minimal products & washable microfibre cloths.
*Dinner as per meal plans - the other 2 portions of the Hairy Biker Chana Dhal I made earlier this month & froze, served with home made bread.
*Did a few surveys. They can be soooo boring, but I made over £300 from doing them last year & it is all useful money for the Car Fund. Felt motivated by claiming another gift card yesterday & by being quite close to cash-out on UGov.
*Check ebay listings. As Sun is 31st, that means I will get one more free-listing opportunity for the current items we're selling. I want to keep on top of using every possible free listings opportunity this year. Even though we are mostly just now selling much smaller numbers of items, & mostly very cheap things like magazines, old postcards, DVDs, etc, it all contributes to the money trickling in the direction of the Car Fund.
*Discovered I have a £5 off voucher for Thompson & Morgan, so that will be useful for my seed order, which I will be putting in next week after I've sorted out my seed box.
*All free leisure today. Can't really be bothered to go out & I don't have the car anyway. Am planning to watch a recorded TV programme, read my library book & write up some family history research.
Have a good day all. Don't blow away, & make sure you line up some serious chill-out time for yourselves this evening. Friday again, already! Where did that week go?!

Morning guys :wave: thanks for starting the thread ally!
So my plans have changed as we were due to be going for a play date but my friend just called in panic as she needs to get her dd some shoes so we have rearranged for next week. Guess me & dgd will walk down to the library & spend some time there & will do some painting this afternoon.
Things so far:
* hung up washing & have another load in
* put away clean, dry washing
* checked banking & cc statement - cc statement is becoming a bit of a problem as where I am paying things as I spend them it is causing a headache with trying to work out what was paid/what is still owing. Might just set up a ss page and each time I spend any money put it in my bank acc and then just pay one payment when it's due. Might be easier & then will get a miniscule bit of interest on it as well
* tidied up kitchen
* a portion of golash out of the freezer for my dinner tonight before work
* received £8.60 expenses from work so scooted that over to my cc for supplies last month
Still to do:
* walk to library
* hang up washing when it's finished
* [STRIKE]call my boss and discuss the shift pattern he's given meafter 2 months of saying we need a regular rota, as I never know one week to the next when I'm working, he's finally done it :T but he's put me down for 3 night shifts
and one of those is a Thursday when oh has football. Back to the drawing board, I hate having to have these conversations...[/STRIKE] wasn't anything as scary as I thought it would be. This being assertive marlarky is easier than the fear makes me believe. I just told him I can't do Thursday evenings but I was prepared to do (in order of preference) Wed day, Tues day or Weds evening. He's coming back to me :beer:
* take a couple of bags to get suppliers for work tonight
* all meals from stores
* photo some bits to put on fleabay over the weekend
* start on my annoying list - thanks Mrs F
* might get some time to do some knitting later - really been putting this off as scared now I need to do the more complicated bits. Might need you to explain it Mrs F. Will attempt to work it out once more....
Ok that's me. Have a great day everyone xDF as at 30/12/16

Afternoon all, thanks for starting Ally
I'm so glad it's Friday!
2 hours overtime at work - struggling to stay motivated today - it has been a long old week at the mill
Signed up for a free trail of Audible and downloaded a free audio book (more Cadfael). I'll delete my account when I've finished listening to it this afternoon
Banking checked and spending diary updated for yesterday
FPL to check
We're getting a new sofa next week so tomorrow will be spent rehoming our old ones! I'm selling mine to a friend and OH's is going to another friend. I need to give mine a rub down tonight and dismantle it. We'll be on camping chairs until next Thursday. We're very lucky as OH knows the owner of a furniture chain so we're getting a new corner sofa as an early wedding present :cool: (unfortunately none of my friends own any furniture chains!)
All meals from stores - just about to go and have my tin of spring vegetable soup!

Managed to get a few extra things done. I'm on a roll!
* Timed my shower so I'd done the housework and had a run before having it. Might as well be filthy before I invest in some water.
* Cleaned out the fridge with Stardrops to prevent food spoiling.
* Ditto microwave.
* Have got in the habit of leaving the washing machine door AND the powder drawer open when not in use. This seems to keep it fresher than just leaving the door open alone.
* Listened to some free BBC podcasts via the iPlayer Radio App on my phone. I like "Steptoe and Son" and "Dad's Army". Benedict Cumberbatch fans might like "Cabin Pressure". Brian Cox fans might like "Infinite Monkey Cage".
* Homemade luxury coffee.
* Lunch was long-forgotten kebabs from the freezer.
* Took chicken out to defrost sans microwave for tonight's homemade KFC. Newbies might be interested in borrowing this book from the library. (Link) Our KFC recipe is simple:
Cut chicken into pieces.
Dip each piece in flour and then in egg.
Take some Ruskoline (Link) or some homemade breadcrumbs and add to this paprika, chilli and black pepper and anything else you fancy. Dip pieces in this spicy crumb.
Fry or grill.

Thanks DNM! Just paid another £150 off my debt and rounded my EF up to £1000! Would have paid more off the debt but now I've got a holiday to pay for! As much as I'd like it gone, the debt is on 0% so I'll try not to beat myself up as long as it's gone this year!Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89
