  • thanks for the benefit of hindsight observation there, how do you get that they're sending an engineer? I've arranged a plumber myself after all the John Lewis back and forth- replacement then no replacement, engineer then no engineer then engineer again. I do find it funny you're getting the details wrong on a forum and saying I've muddied the waters via social media, got that spot on neilmcl.
  • The pics weren't posted on FB they were messaged, it says so clearly in my first post. All of your points are invalid.
  • Have you fixed the leak?

I fixed one I had a week or so ago the same day!
  • Yep it's all good, I'm just really disappointed with John Lewis, spent a fortune with them as U believed I was in good hands, found their service to be indecisive and ineffectual. Did they change owners recently or something? Or are they just marketed very well. Best get my home insurance changed, God knows how pointless they could actually be given real opportunity.

Nothing wrong with John Lewis, they haven't changed owners (I dont think the staff will go for it anyway)

I think you just got a member of staff not on the ball.

Is this not what you've just told us JL want to do, which is kind of the point!
I ring John Lewis today (Friday) to confirm this and they say no, actually John Lewis now do want to send an engineer out to investigate to see if it's their fault. I say I'm fed up with being messed around, I'm getting a plumber like they said before. Now is that really the customer service you'd expect from the highly reputable John Lewis??

"Messaged", posted, what does it matter, you still sent them pictures did you not!

As far as the use of facebook is concerned, it matters a great deal.
If the complaint and pictures were posted on Facebook then anyone and everyone can see them. If however the complaint and pictures were sent as a message then only the relevant people at John Lewis can see the information.
Why don't/can't you simply admit that your earlier comment about the OP complaining on social media was in fact, incorrect.

You're missing the point, he result's the same. The OP sent pictures and a complaint (via whatever means is not the relevant point) and potentially muddied the water rather than just take the sensible option of allowing JL to sort things out as they originally promised to do.
  • Derailed, nice one neilmcl. Thanks to everyone above who did contribute in a helpful, informative and pleasant way. Nice place.
