    I think that you have to accept responsibility for this. You admit that you didn't check or ask if your phone was compatible. Wanting to reject he car because your current phone doesn't work seems a little OTT to me.

    I can t believe the "grievance culture " which has invaded the UK. OP, you bought the car to do many important things, chiefly to transport you along the road. Maybe the seats did nt warm your bottom on a winters day, maybe the sat nav directed you into a river or the radio would nt play radio 1 . OP, I don t believe you can call it "mis selling because one of the cars toys would nt come out to play .

    About the iPhone thing, Apple deliberately stop their devices working with non-Apple products. Last year my GF could get photos from her camera onto her iPhone using a cheap cable, a few months ago an iOS update was rolled out and now the phone complains about the cable being non-genuine and refuses to use it.

I waited 3 days and after hearing nothing from Vauxhall I went back to the showroom to ask how they'd got on with their enquiries. They said that as the Intellisense had worked on several of their employees' iPhones - one of which was an iPhone5c like mine - it was my phone that was at fault, not the car. I said I wish they'd phoned me to tell me this 3 days ago as it would have saved me 3 days of stress and worry. They said they had been waiting for me to phone them - so much for excellent service! I agreed that if my phone was at fault I would have to get it sorted out or buy a new one, but asked, as I had never seen/heard any phone actually working, if they could please demonstrate a phone working in my car. They came outside with me and connected to two different employees' iPhones - neither worked - no-one could hear anyone speaking on the phones. At that point they finally agreed that it was the car that was at fault, not my phone, and I am now waiting to hear from them as to when I can take my car in for 2 days to be fixed. I'm not jumping for joy until it's actually fixed, but I do feel very relieved at present. I think what I've learned from all this, and from your kind replies, is two things. Firstly, don't assume anything. To assume does indeed make an !!! of u and me. I assumed that iPhones MUST be compatible with Intellisense, being Bluetooth phones that are widely used - as it turned out I was right, but I might just as likely have been wrong. Check everything up front, read everything, do your homework, think of every possible question no matter how ridiculous it might seem to you, and get evidence of the replies if you possibly can. Don't trust anyone however nice they may seem, I'm sad to say this but unfortunately I've learned it's good advice. Secondly, don't give up. It's easy to be made to feel intimidated, or that you're stupid, grabbing, or a time waster. But hang on to whatever it is that feels unjust to you (I personally feel you should get what it says on the tin and that non-disclosure can be as good as lying); go with your gut instinct (I just didn't believe the dealers who kept fobbing me off and changing their story as to whether or not my phone was compatible); and persevere until you have a definitive answer either way.

    What car is it ? With Ford SYNC 2 the phone should connect as normal but has to be paired twice to get the message reading part. this was not the case on 2014 SYNC cars so when I changed car I assumed that it just did not work but it took the sales guy at Ford 20 seconds to sort. (This is I-Phone 6)


    Never had a Bluetooth problem with I-phone, I connect it to Bluetooth speakers in several rooms in our house and both cars with no problem other than the message reading on above which was my inability not the phones / cars.
