Lol this is normal tax (the 357). It seems they messed up PAYE code at work and didn't deduct enough so I underpaid. I already have a 2k overpayment of tax credits I'm paying back over 3 yrs :(

Yeah definitely look into surveys as it's worth doing...it really adds up quick if you do a couple a day.

Yep you could do all 31 items in one day or do one per day however works for you. The idea is to sell, donate or just get rid of one item for each day that month. I was lagging behind and then last week had a major blitz and sorted loads. I'm going to keep doing it as I reckon with the amount of clutter in my house it'll keep me going for every day left of the yr!!! It's very therapeutic and helps keep me going seeing the amount in my signature as my house doesn't look different yet but in a few months at this rate it should :)

M&s took £4 less as min payment than last mth so I paid the extra £4 towards card then figured might as well round it up to a fiver so did. I got my TSB cashback which was 3.57 so I rounded up to a fiver and transferred this off mbna card.

    Every little helps!!
  • You are so focused and motivated! You're right every little does help.

Your house will have nothing left at this rate lol It's good to find something that motivates and keeps you going!
    Starting debt £18,675.63

Trust me, my house is full of junk! Take me ages to even achieve a minimal look...lol

I do still spend on stuff like sweets and occasional cake so I'm not a total saint...figure it's a miserable existence and unsustainable otherwise. Just also now recognised the importance of keeping a proper eye on spending, understanding I must plan for typical annual purchases and chipping away at debt not just paying the minimum which is something I've done for years. I have a lot to repay. Wish I was someone who could see where the debt went and be able to sell big value items but my debt is just from being crap with money and little purchases...no expensive hobbies I can cash in!!

Haha with kids you'll never have a minimalist house! I can't believe how much stuff was in my flat. Keep up the good work!

Thanks for reminder kitten as really I should check mbna as that's the one I have been chipping away at.
I started this diary owing (approx) £2k to tesco, £2k to santander 1, £2k to santander 2, £230 to opus, £1900 to barclaycard and about 13 to mbna. I did BT for good 0% deal to m&s so then owed around 5650 to M&S and 13k to.mbna. cleared all the others through BT and mini payment. Need to try and remember log in details now!

Haha yes! That is the issue with too many creditors! Trying to work out how to log into them all. And when you swap about and it's all different again!
So is that 7 creditors? Do you snowball? It's the only way I can do it. In your position I would be happier tackling them in size order. You get more wins and it feels more like its going down. Plus with fewer creditors you have fewer bts and you've just done the bts for the big balances anyway :) xxx

I've not done snowball calculator but I know approx £2.7k of mbna is 18.9% whereas the rest of balance and m&s whole balance is 0% so I'm focusing my over payments to mbna as it costs the most. I just have the 2 CC'S and loan to pay now instead of lots of smaller balances across 7 cards. Definitely a lot more organised and easy to monitor. I have debt to hmrc I'm paying and a sofa loan but they're all fixed term and 0% for duration so my CC'S are my focus now

Busy with kiddies and worn out by eve but will try to update valances soon
