Well yesterday held more online surveys and ebay listings and so will today! Then either today or tomorrow I'm doing my first proper shop since starting this diary and am sticking to £50 spend which will be a very satisfying achievement for me if I can do it. Going to get some slow cooker ingredients so I can buy cheaper meat to bring bill down.0

Hey note, just checking into to say well done! We all have ups and downs but its the perseverance to get it fixed that will sort it all out eventually!
Must start looking at doing these online surveys and other money making things, myself!Overall Goal: Debt Free by 2019:Amount remaining to pay off: £36415

Well today I've paid off the small balances I had outstanding on two santander cards and an opus card so as soon as it clears I can close the accounts. Feels great as now I only have balances on mbna and M&S. Yes they are significant balances but I feel more in control as it's only two direct debits and two balances to check. Now rather than me having lots of cards to work out I can just throw any spare cash at mbna as my priority as some not on 0%.
Got lots of eBay stuff ending soon and then tomorrow or Monday I'll crack on with listing a load more.
Huge mountain ahead of me but feeling better about it 0 -
I know exactly what you mean. Between me and my wife we have shut down 3 CCs (hopefully 4 soon) and it feels great even if the balance (for us anyway) has simply been transferred.
But shutting down old CCs you've had for ages is brilliant. Well doneOverall Goal: Debt Free by 2019:Amount remaining to pay off: £36415

Thrilled! Sitting packaging a load of eBay stuff that's sold. Not only am I grateful to have more money to pay off card but also getting some clutter gone. It's taking ages to sort house as I'm trying to sell and not give away to free space but it's so worth it.
Got a load more stuff to list over next few days and been pleasantly surprised by how the sales are adding up. I've also transferred 35 to card yesterday as I got given some free household stuff I'd normally have purchased and sold some bits locally so I've used that money from saving and sales to pay towards debt.
Oh and Next refunded some sale stuff I'd not got round to collecting so I transferred that money to card too as I'd in effect spent it so when it got refunded it made sense to transfer straight to debt
Phew...I'm getting hang of this. I realise I could be more brutal on not having the odd coffee and really restricting grocery purchases to save even more but before I resort to that I need to exhaust sales and sensible savings like I've done above as I think if I get too strict and restrictive then I'll get depressed about it. It's gonna take a long time to clear my debt (though quicker if I keep up the extra payments like i am) so I have to be sensible about making sure life is bearable and not miserable while I do it. Can cope with restricting luxuries like clothes and buying second hand where poss but the odd choc biscuit and so on boosts my spirits when I'm stuck in at home. We rarely have takeaway now and I've even avoided takeaways suggested by hubby on two occasions and made dinners instead whereas normally I'd have jumped at easy option of takeaway0 -
Woohoo! I switched energy suppliers last yr and the cashback has just tracked (£25) so I transferred to PayPal. Then logged in and my eBay sales added up to more than expected so I took off the £25 I paid for postage today leaving £73 and so have transferred to bank and then logged in and transferred straight to debt card. I have a few more sales I'm awaiting payment on so will leave that money in PayPal until I've had ebay seller invoice next month and then whatever left after fees and postage I'll transfer onto card too0

Wow just realised due to this forum changing how I think I've not added to my debt by spending on my cards and have instead paid over £100 in extra payments towards clearing debt which is money I'd have normally kept and frittered away.0
