I understand that the process is just that. I await the invite to an investigatory meeting. I have got union support waiting when I need it and am waiting to hear the next steps. I can't remember doing or saying anything that would upset anyone but of course I don't remember every word I have ever said either. I suppose it's easy for someone to just take a dislike to something I have said.
Anyway I am playing a waiting game at the moment. I will repost an update when I have it.
Although the company may allow union support at an investigatory meeting they do not have to.
The legal right to be accompanied by a union rep or work colleague is only for formal disciplinary and grievance meetings.0 -
I understand that. I would not expect to be accompanied at an investigatory meeting. I'm hoping that the complaint will not be upheld but as I have no idea what it is I can't really say.0

Well after the investigation meeting where I still can't work out what I've done or said I have been told this issue will go to disciplinary. This is a nightmare! I have been told that if I resign with immediate effect I can leave straight away and my record will show resignation only. I think this is my best bet as I can't defend what I dont know about. I've also been told that I will not be in breach of contract for not serving my notice period if they agree to my immediate leaving. Any ideas on how to handle the resignation process and what I should put in the letter?0

They must have said something so you could give your response surely?
Although they have said that your record will only show resignation as the reason you left they can put it in a reference that you left while under suspension.
Hope it all works out for youLost my soulmate so life is empty.
I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

Their case will be set out and you should receive it through the post with the invite.
They cannot convene a hearing and simply ambush you when you turn up, the evidence needs to be heard and tested.Don’t be a can’t, be a can.0 -

Wait, surely they told you the situation or if they didn't surely you asked what was happening?0 -

OP what actually happened in the meeting? I'm very surprised you wasn't told e.g you said something inappropriate. If you know hand on your heart that you're innocent then fight it all the way. It's better to regret something I did do than to regret something that I didn’t. :EasterBun0 -
OP just to be clear you do know that by just staring at a person body can be classed as sexual harassment?
Verbal, non verbal and physical.
Have you made any comments about somesone clothes? Talked about your sex life?
Don't just assume a woman complained as it could be a man.
Think about all the areas that cover sexual harrassment and think if you might have done something that you didn't realise. It's better to regret something I did do than to regret something that I didn’t. :EasterBun0 -
I can't think of anything and they haven't said. They have told me there will be an invite coming to a hearing and I will see what that says. I think I will have to resign. In life you need to pick your battles. This seems like one I can't win. I've been told that if the hearing doesn't go my way then I'm screwed. Can't afford that to happen so not left with much choice am I?! I want to fight it as I think I'm innocent but I'm not sure I can win. If they are going to a hearing they have got something-I just don't know what! It's bloody unfair but there it is. I guess I chalk it up to life experience and leave it at that. Don't know if I can cope with any more grief over it. Just want it all to go away. I can't imagine what I have or could have done but maybe the invite to the hearing will tell me. Then I can make a decision! The union have advised me to wait till then too.0

Oh yes one more thing. You say you went to the investigation meeting and basically told to resign. Don't quote me on this, but I thought both sides of the story have to be fully investigated then the company have to go away and decide whether to sack you or not.
I just find it odd how they are basically saying your guilty before you've even been heard.
I hope if you are innocent that you don't lose your job as this is a very serious matter. It's better to regret something I did do than to regret something that I didn’t. :EasterBun0
