When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important. :money:

Morning Lego Mum and all that follow :hello:
I was woken by a coughing fit (mine) about an hour ago and then my mind started ticking over and I came downstairs to make a brew and (like Lego mum) do some quiet jobslast night I finally did my tax return. I have no idea why it became a January job when it could have quite as easily been a July job, particularly as I got a rebate
(well effectively, I have money saved up to pay but knew I had to pay less, just not sure how much until yesterday) I can confirm I'm :j:j:j additional money paid off debt, with a tiny amount into EF/savings
2016 must do better on TRit did also set me thinking, whilst I was looking at my debt sheet that I reconcile, that if we didn't have any debt we would be so much better off. I know that is a completely obvious statement but it's only when you see it in black and white as to how much you've paid off in a month that it really hits you. If you haven't all your debt listed in one place such as YNAB or a spreadsheet, I would strongly recommend it for a holistic view of your money
anyway, enough waffle, list for today :
Check banking, small PAD if I can, update sheet but no payments expected
Check surveys and FPL
Meals from stores, just about to put beef madras in slow cooker for tonight, have some left over cauli rice to have with it. Lego mum think you mentioned CR last week - do you freeze it?
Quick tidy round, fly lady styleeee
Double check fridge , make sure nothing on the turn
Squeeze another load of washing in now on cheap rate
Fill car up on fuel card from work
Packed lunch to work - thinking spicy carrot soup
Read martins e mail :money:
Get paid from friend for some products I sold her, pay cost of goods and profit to CC
Think that's about all, have a great day everyone, J0 -
:heart2: Work out why my laptop won't connect to the internet, its been saying limited access since yesterday afternoon
This often means the internet signal is weak at the internet providers end.
Have you turned everything off and on again?
Is there a possibility that something might have dislodged the Wireless adapter, or the antenna? Ot whatever box you get your internet from?
Did you hit a combination of keys to turn off the wireless?
If you check Windows Updates, do you see an update for your wireless card? You may have to reinstall a driver.
Have you checked the Device Manager to see the condition of the devices?
If you use Windows right click on the internet Icon on the task bar and open Network Sharing and click on Change Adapter Settings. Select the connection you are using and click Disable this network device. Wait a couple of seconds. Click Enable this network device.
Also check on this website to see whether your internet provider is down. (Link) Type your internet providers name in the search box to see if it's broken at their end.Debt-free day: 8th May 2015 "Remember that sometimes not getting what you want is a wonderful stroke of luck," Dalai Llama0 -
Lego,
Also check your virus protection. Have you just updated it? Sometimes doing this will murder your internet.
If you've just installed or updated some software reverse it.Debt-free day: 8th May 2015 "Remember that sometimes not getting what you want is a wonderful stroke of luck," Dalai Llama0 -
legomum Wow you were up early. Hope you will last the day ok. I was interested in the xbox remote. We have the same model and I didn't remember it having a remote controlller? We have always managed to buy any parts for it from eBay.

Morning everyone,
Not so much time today, as have to attend a meeting later & need to do some prep & paperwork for that. Still a few bits of moneysaving though.
*mr f will drop me off for meeting & collect me, which will save paying for parking.
*Check ebay listings. Another small item sold last night.
*Do this week's ironing - only the items which really need it, & will switch off for final garment.
*Make tomorrow's packed lunch.
*Make bread dough for rolls & tonight's pizza.
*Blitz my yukky roots - will be making up just half a pack of hair colour so I can get 2 applications from 1 box.
*Big Budget Day deferred to tomorrow when I have more time to devote to doing it properly.
*No downstairs heating on till 5pm.
Tired this morning. Cat started trying to tunnel under our bedroom door at 4.15 to inform us that he didn't fancy what was in his bowl. Tough luck, Matey, because he's just been served the same again in a new bowl with a small amount of fresh meat on top. Zero food waste policy in our house also extends to cats.
Must get cracking. Have a good day all.

All ok outside but howling wind and rain.
Bad headache and eye pain today so hoping work clients are gentle with me.
Should be a nsd if I ever get coat on and move.
Have a good frugal day all.

Good Morning All,
Didn't post yesterday but I managed to cook a Thai green curry which meant leftovers frozen for another day. I also froze the remaining curry paste as I doubt it will be used in the next 7 days so there is more to use.
Today, DD has her first full day at nursery (home for lunch) so OH done the school run whilst I sorted a few eBay issues out. The rest of the day is as follows:
:T breakfast at home - done
:T pick DD up for lunch and take her nannys - free food :rotfl: then back to nursery - done
:T take DS2 to baby clinic - done

:T entertain kiddies and settle for bed, maybe get a few surveys done too
:T dinner for me and OH, jacket potato and homemade creamy mushroom sauce

Thank you La escocesa I've replied!
It's a wet and horrible day here, but I managed to duck out with the dogs and the baby for a walk in-between showers. The rain doesn't bother me or the border collie, but the pug and the baby have other ideas when they see the rain! :rotfl:
I've gone a bit off the DFW rails recently. I've annoyed myself, because I've slipped back into old habits, like buying a toastie yesterday at the play centre and getting DS1 a mcdonalds (which was a treat for an A in maths, but still ). I really need to keep on reminding myself that this is so important to me and we need rid of this debt. Today is a new day! :T
Silly question... What does PAD mean??
Today I'm on a mission to sort out all our washing and ironing which has been hanging around for way too long. Load 1 in the washer now. Kitchen is already cleaned. I need to:Check banking
Aim for a NSD
Sort out the meal planner for the next few weeks according to what's in the freezer. Lots of pork loin in there... any suggestions other than just grilling it?
Get over to the old house (sale should complete on Friday :j) and meet the buyers of some of our old furniture for them to take it all out.
DS1 has stubbed his toe and it's looking rather dodgy, so a trip to the minor injuries unit might be in order this aft too!
