Another day of working done. After the glorious weekend I had salad for lunch, but going back to soup for today!
This week we have MiLs birthday, farrier and vet coming out and a night out, so an expensive week (with next week not much better!). Also donated to a fund me campaign for the funeral of someone I knew from old who died recently. He wasn't much older than I am so it was certainly a shock.0 -
Sorry to hear about the funeral. Its always a shock when someone close to your own age dies.
I love the concept of pony walking. Good luck with the farrier and the vet I hope its not too expensive.MortgageStart Nov 2012 £310,000

Hi, just caught up with your diary. Well done on being mortgage free and good luck with your goals.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0

Thanks for popping by everyone, it really does help knowing there are people cheering you on.
Lovely hubby rang up to cancel breakdown cover as it was nearly £100 cheaper with another organisation. The outcome was our current providers offered to drop to a similar price (about £20 more) but for the ease of renewing with them it seemed like a good option.0 -
It feels like not much happening this week, just work, work and more work! Farrier came and some didn't need trimming so a bit less £ than I expected.
The car is in the garage being repaired after the damage from something on the motorway (back in March!). I'm hoping they wash it to save a job!0 -
I know what you mean it feels like all work for me. I really don't like these middle weeks of the month when money is tight and there is nothing exciting happening on the MSE front. Hope your car get sorted and enjoy the weekend 0
-
I agree these middle weeks are slow, but I am finding that posting regularly is helping with motivation.
Social night last night didn't cost anywhere as much as I was expecting, so a bonus there, with lots of laughs which is definitely good for the soul.
However bought DGS birthday presents today which had made it a bit of an expensive weekend after all!
Ive still got expenses to claim from the business but just haven't had time to sort it out yet, hopefully I can complete that tomorrow as they will be much better in our personal accounts earning interest than sat in the business account! Lots of Suns for tomorrow so maybe a BBQ will make a nice change too.0 -
I think the diaries help with the motivation and also little things do make a difference in the end. Saving £5 here and there when the target is big seems so insignificant but in the end it adds up and I find rambling on my diary helps me feel I'm getting there.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!0 -
:wave::wave::wave: Found you!
There's some seriously amazing stuff going on here, Elephant! The most I've done recently is to open another Regular Saver, the sort of bank account that's attached to your current account, pays 4% p.a. interest on whatever's in the account. Sigh ... I'm going to have to get my act together (again) but you're doing brilliantly, especially for living in an expensive part of the country.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Its great weather for pony walking at the moment.0
