Wedding extras

I don't really see the point in worrying about being 'original' or 'different'. People don't have a good time at a wedding or remember it because of those things, and really, does it matter if weddings are all a bit similar? They always have been after all!0

My daughters friends definitely don't want their wedding to be remotely similar to their friends.
It's a competition nowadays0 -
My friend had a young couple playing violin/guitar I think it was. Her mum spotted them in town, busking in a subway and asked them if they would come and play at the bit between ceremony and meal at the venue after the church service. It was lovely to have some music whilst the photos were being taken outside..... which takes bleddy ages! With them being buskers they were happy to give up a couple of hours for far less money than anyone traditionally doing 'wedding music'.
Everyone has photo booths these days..... although if they're not too pricey to get in they could be fun.
I agree with free drinks, to whatever capacity - as a lot of wedding venues tend to have pricey bar tariffs.0 -

Try something original if you have to OP
Personally, I'd save your money. It's the relationship that's important not trying to ''out do'' your friends
Wow, way to make me feel crappy about my upcoming reception.0 -

Don't be. The wedding isn't important. Your relationship is0 -
It's not even my wedding. I'm getting married abroad and this is our reception back home.
We've actually chosen a photo booth and a sweet table because those are things our children liked.0 -

I disagree, I've had many a conversation with friends and with family after they have been at a wedding and they have commented on the things like entertainment, waiting around, table arrangement's, flowers, what the bride looked like. Not a lot of people go to a wedding and then just talk about the love between the two stood at the front.Newly Married, not a 2b anymore!! Mum to two wonderful boys!0 -
A recent wedding I went to had a plastic box of colouring pads, pencils, cheap building bricks, bubbles "hidden" under each table which kept kids and grown ups occupied.
They also had a candy floss stall, popcorn machine stall, caricature artist and a bucking bronco.
If you really want some extras I think you should choose what would suit you and your guests.0 -
I have no idea what a "photo booth" at a wedding looks like. All I can imagine is them hauling in one of those boxes with curtains you see at stations and post offices and guests then queuing to get their passport photos done, plus the group of teens trying to see if 12 can squeeze in at once. Can someone enlighten me?0

It's a set up either amateur or professional with lots of props for the guests to have photos - props might be fake beards or masks or boas whatever floats your boat reallyI Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
