Tuesday 26th Jan - What small DFW things will you do today?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important. :money:

Hi, :wave:
Greetings from soggy Scotland. Nothing much to report, just popping in to get you started.
* Went to work even though the desire to skive off was seriously strong. Just two more shifts to go in this role. Then I can have some time off, finally.
* Leftover lamb stew for breakfast followed by the last of the weekend's bargain raspberries.
* Credit card rewards are nearly at £10 for this quarter. (0% Credit card is managed using the 'spend then pay off card immediately method'.)
* Weakened in the work canteen and bought a pastry and some crisps but managed to stop myself before ordering a main meal. :rotfl:
What about you folks?

Morning all
Ally I dont think I could eat lamb stew at this time of morning but it is definitely a hearty breakfast!
Tumble drier on again here, just to finish off what has been over one of the airers. I am really struggling with the amount of washing at the moment.
Shouldnt need to spend today. Homemade chicken and chorizo pie for tea tonight, have got a sandwich to take for lunch. Need to get DS1 a copy of the highway code sometime this week and find out about driving lessons. My lovely lovely brother has been saving a little each week for my kids since they were born and this should pay for DS1s driving lessons.
Have a good day everyone x0 -

Morning all:j
Thanks for the start Ally
Windy here today, with rain forecast - I was lucky enough to get the washing fairly dry outside yesterday, it just needs to be put in the airing cupboard for a while now
List for today:
Planning a visit to the local garden centre to look for a bigger pot for my patio quince tree, some compost and some winter wash for the fruit trees - so not a NSD today.
Apart from that I have / will:
Cheapie porridge breakfast (sorry Ally, couldn't manage lamb stew, but I think you work nights (?) in which case it would be like dinner for you?)
Fed dog and hens
Dog walks x 2 (will get OH to do one)
Check banks
HM meals from stores - making curry today
Buy bananas, apples and cooking foil while out
Sort out and clean at least one cupboard
Dust the furniture (didn't get to this yesterday)
Pull out more chard plants for the chickens
Maybe tackle the unruly climbing rose that grows over an archway in the garden - it needs pruning and training, but will be a pickle to do because OH has woven it into the archway - it is very pricklyDepends on whether it stays dry though...
Put away sales items that I brought home from unit yesterday, before GD appears tomorrow and turns them out :rotfl:
Postal survey tasks
Any online surveys, FPL etc
Better get on with some of it - hope everyone has a good day0 -
Morning all
I managed to get very little done yesterday in terms of DFW but I did manage to get my car tax sorted.
Today will be a LSD.
Have an hour long meeting after first break in work today to break the day up.
Go a run for free tonight.
Pack some clothes for moving on Friday as I done nothing last night.0 -
Morning all!
I managed a NSD yesterday! Today wont be as I need petrol.
So last night I ended up in the kitchen most of the evening so didn't get much else done! Started making lasagne, realised I didn't have any tinned tomatoes so used up a jar of bolagnaise sauce I must have bought at some point. Then started making the white sauce and made a pint to top one lasagne! Opps! So decided to use the sauce to make a chicken and broccoli bake which also used up a few bits of broccoli left over from dinner! Not sure what it will taste like as I tried to base it on a recipe my lodger used to make but couldn't really remember it!
Right so on to today! I have/will:-
* Drag myself out of bed!
* Check banks
* Do a bit of a money shuffle with money OH gave me
* Check FPL
* Take lunch to work including salad and fruit salad my mum gave me
* Take parcel to work to hand in on my way home
* Clear out money that's by the handbrake in my car (no idea why its there or why I haven't stuck it in my purse already! Only coppers and a few 10ps)
* Charge phone in work
* Rejig and fianlise budget (realised no council tax next month!)
* Freeze chicken breasts
* Dinner from stores
* Work out some jobs OH can do around the house tomorrow as likely to be rained off work
* Tidy bedroom
* Strip bedding ready to put on tomorrow morning
* Wipe down shower after use (I always do this but forget to put!)
Think that's it for now. Hope you all have a good day!Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89
Current debt - £6,450.00
Total paid off - £9,150.89 (58% paid off)0
