How much does good manners cost?

Not necessarily
The comments i'm talking about that get thanked are those that are driving people away from the forum. They should never be thanked or appreciated but they are. Whether people agree with me or not, i dont really care. What i care about is good people being driven away by this constantly happening. I've seen it countless times on here and it is doing real damage to this forum board. Most people use this forum daily. It does have a good community in parts, so why do people allow it to be so easily ruined?
As Cait said, i built my reputation as a joker. My reputation for being a joker started on this board and i took some stick for it but i'm not just a joker and certainly not 1 dimensional. A joker has feelings too and i dont like what i see. Its not nice, its not clever and it most definitely does not reflect the spirit of this forum.
This can go down as a defining moment. Spinkz has evolved
What you deem inappropriate may not seem so to others ....As here you don't agree with me and vice versa.... People should be able to thank who we want without someone else trying to lecture them on their choices.
I'm sure there is no concrete evidence that some have been driven out of the forum by others, some have stronger personalities than others for which they are rightly allowed to display, some have 'throw their teddys from the pram' tendencies..... What I have noticed though is a pattern of some jumping to the defence of other posters, start personally attacking the posters they think post inappropriate etc posts and basically causing a complete meltdown of a thread...
Jumping in to defend others isn't usually the answer..0 -
Is there somewhere I don't know about where all these 'new' rules are written down and who I should thank or not? Its not that we have more patience as we grow older, its just that we're too tired to care about all the pointless drama

Good manners cost nothing, but by goodness, they make for a more pleasant life.
I think most people are well mannered. And I love hearing my little grandson say 'You're welcome', every time I thank him for something.Member #14 of SKI-ers club
