Eh, what is the best way to rectify this? I don't want him back, and to be honest am pretty sure he wouldn't fix it anyway.0

Not now you've paid him which you shouldn't have done as you're not happy.
The only way to bodge it is to remove the beading cut it to fit between the architrave and get a sealant a similar colour to the floor and fill the gaps.0 -
White silicone, warm it up in hot water first so it is warm and easy to apply, cut the tube and fill the back of the trim with silicone, you can use corking but it gets dirty.
You want something you can remove and certainly dont want the door frames chopping to bits.
If you are planning to sell most agents will say the laminate is better in the bin and a plain carpet down, its very mid nighties old hat cold feel.I do Contracts, all day every day.0 -

I could not really think of any way not to pay him for 4 hours work without some real confrontation.
I have got basic woodworking skills (I got an A at school for building something that looked like an electric chair.)
Could you possibly tell me what an architrave is?

Ok, we get it you don't like laminate but the op obviously does.0 -

I know in houses the trend is going against laminate. However in my block laminate is still King (first time buyers, buy to let, etc.)
I will look into your white silicone idea.

TBH the only way to do a proper job would have been to undercut wood around the doors to get a fit like this

Still, you are where are. I'd prize up those two daft bits of beading, then using a colour matched timber and laminate sealant -

I know in my parents area, laminate is no longer cool - they are all well off. however towards the lower end of the market, laminate is still very common.0 -
Its good for kids and dogs as it can be mopped, its good if you have the budget to have it fitted correctly, but at £100 for 19m2 you will get £100 worth of work.
A plumber wont start the van for £100, the detail finishing can be sorted.
If the OP had said listen, I expect a absolute perfection standard of work then the price would have no doubt reflected this.
At £100 all in its lucky its the right way up.I do Contracts, all day every day.0 -

Me too. I think it looks better when you have fiddly areas like that. I have a hallway with 6 doors, all my flooring is cut under the frames/skirting.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0
